The sunlight was beginning to fade as we walked away from the temple.

The memories of the battle against Seline and the truth about the Shadow King still weighed heavily on our shoulders, but a new sense of hope lingered in the air.

Kael walked beside me, and his gaze reflected a determination that I shared.

“We’re almost there,” I said, trying to mask the anxiety that gripped me.

“Soon we’ll be home. Are you sure you want to come? You’re not obligated,” I said timidly.

“Are you kidding? I want to see where you were born,” he said, taking my hand.

“Are you ready?” Kael asked, his voice filled with understanding. He knew that returning home meant facing the past and the choices I had made.

I nodded, even though my heart was racing.

My mind returned to the day I had left everything behind, when the shadows had approached and my mother had told me to run.

But now, with Seline defeated and the Shadow King confined, I felt it was time to return.

Finally, we arrived in front of my house.

The wooden doors were closed, but the structure still stood strong, bathed in the warm colors of the sunset.

A lump formed in my throat as I thought about what I would find inside.

The shadows were no longer there, and the memories of that fugitive night overwhelmed me.

“You're not alone,” Kael said, holding my hand. “Let’s face this together.”

I took a deep breath and slowly pushed the door open.

It creaked lightly, revealing the familiar interior. The air was thick with memories and warmth, but the silence was oppressive.

“Dad? Mom?” I called, my voice trembling. My heart raced as I ventured inside.

Kael followed me, his gaze watchful.

Suddenly, a figure appeared from one of the rooms. It was my mother, her hair tousled and her eyes wide with surprise.

“Alina!” she exclaimed, running toward me.

We embraced tightly, as if fearing the other might disappear.

“I thought I would never see you again!” she said, tears streaming down her face.

“You're alive!”

“I’m back,” I replied, my voice breaking with emotion.

“I never stopped looking for you.”

As we embraced, I felt a hand resting on me.

It was my father, his expression one of disbelief and joy.

“You’re really home, Alina,” he said, his voice filled with emotion.

“I can’t believe my eyes.”

“I was so scared,” I confessed, looking at both of them. “The shadows… they were there, but now everything is different. I have so much to tell you!”

My mother stepped back for a moment, studying my face. “And you… you faced everything alone?”

“We did it,” I interrupted, feeling determination reflected in my voice. “Kael and I. But there’s still much to do.”

Kael stepped forward, his gaze kind. “Hello, my name is Kael; I’m a friend of hers,” he said, pointing at me with an awkward smile.

“Hi Kael, nice to meet you. Thank you for taking care of my daughter,” my mother smiled at him, touching his shoulder.

“No ma’am, it was her who took care of me. Without her and her choices, we wouldn’t be here today.”

“The realm of shadows hasn’t been completely destroyed. We must remain vigilant,” I said.

My mother nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. “And your father… the King?”

“By the way, you could have told me earlier! I would have prepared myself differently!” I said, raising my voice.

“It’s complicated,” she said, hesitating. “I’m sorry; I should have told you that night. Forgive me.”

“Don’t worry, Mom,” I said, moving closer to her. “And besides, he’s no longer a threat. I’ve decided to keep him in a dimension of light.”

My father grew serious. “You’ve become stronger, Alina. But remember, you’re not alone. We’re here for you.”

Emotions overwhelmed me again. I had never thought I would be able to embrace my parents after everything I had faced.

And yet, here we were, together.

“I’m afraid of what the future holds for us,” I confessed, seeking comfort in their embrace. “But together we can face it.”

“We’ll face it together,” Kael repeated, stepping closer. His presence was a source of strength and stability.

We all sat together in the living room, surrounded by the memories of a life I had left behind.

My mother’s laughter, my father’s stories… everything had returned.

But I knew the road wouldn’t be easy.

The shadows would continue to haunt us, and Seline wasn’t the only threat.

We had to be ready.

“There are still many secrets to unveil,” I said, looking into Kael’s eyes.

“But we’ll do it together, step by step.”

With a smile, Kael nodded. “Together.”

And as the sun set, bathing the room in a warm golden glow, I realized that, for the first time in a long time, I was home.
