Alastor never was one to indulge in physical debaucheries, but it seems like his sexual awakening fucked things up in his brain. Finding out he likes to prey not only on those who deserve it but on the special someone who makes him want to get even more intimate than seeing the life drain from their eyes, to own them fully. He is not even sure he has any actual desires other than forcing his kind-of-girlfriend into submission and watching them enjoy themselves by his hand (or mouth or...), only because he permits her to do so, and only do so by him. It makes him dizzy only to think about her face as she fully lets herself go, so very vulnerable, so foolish letting him not less but into her bed, while he could just snap her neck then and there. Such a strange and new sensation this is, his stomach getting all tingling and hot, and finally his body experiencing pleasure beyond the inevitable and bothersome need to empty itself once in a while.

And what was happening with Vincent was hauntingly similar, an electricity running through him as the other one comes to heel just because he simply tells him to. He didn't even had to hurt him, threaten him to have the man run after him in silence. Imagine how he could break him down if knives were involved...

Therefore, just to have more chances to put him in his place, to humiliate this powerful, wealthy man who seems to have everything Alastor never could, he starts to engage him in short conversations. Usually only something brief, Alastor barking a question at Vincent and shutting him off if the response does not satisfy him. It's like holding a leash and tugging on it once the dog misbehaves. Teaching him some manners.

Not that it changes anything as to how they treat each other in front of people they know - polite, distant, little bickering back and forth. He cannot have anyone else see Vincent like how he does, all willing and ready to obey him. It is an unspoken rule, but they both somehow just know and respect not to go too far while in the office - that is if Alastor doesn't just simply chooses to ignore the man fully when Vincent drops in to "pick up Chrissy". It truly baffles Alastor how anyone could share a bed with that annoying girl, but probably obnoxious people attract each other...

Vincent is truly one who somehow manages to get under his skin in a way none managed to do before. However, probably precisely because of this, it's the most entertaining to crush him under his thumb. And for some twisted reason, the scary-looking cult leader lets him, going all smiley when he sees Alastor, looking all adoring and beaming with want to challenge him in some way. They act all prideful whenever they are not alone, cold and patronising towards each other, just for Vincent to back down the moment they are left to their own devices walking to a secluded bar, hanging on Alastor's every word. While his intentions are unclear, it's not that he is smarter than Alastor so he is not too worried about being outplayed.

Vincent is annoying but has some surprisingly original opinions, which he shares unasked, whenever he gets too drunk to hold his tongue until he is spoken to. Alastor usually listens as the man frantically goes on and on about the plans he has to 'climb to the top' and sometimes even goes into detail about how easy it is to get someone to be your obedient little puppet, and torture them just by cutting back affection. "Yeah, and seriously then they stop eating to make up for some tiny shit I pointed out, until I accept their apology officially, it's hilarious! We did have one more jumping off the roof because I went a bit hard on her - but for fuck's sake how hard can it possibly be to organise a gala?!"

The idea is fascinating to Alastor that you can kill someone so much less gruesomely, but he still thinks it lacks art and creativity. Nothing like a well-planned execution after you stalk your prey for weeks, and choose a well-fitting end for them. Also, you can watch their face the moment they realise it is the end of the road, and he has full control over their every last moment. Compared to that, manipulating them to off themselves is just a question of luck - it might work for some and do nothing for another, cheap mind tricks to say at least. But he somewhat appreciates the effort at least, even if it is misplaced and a little pathetic of Vincent. But somehow he grows to tolerate the other's ramblings, he has some authentic ideas and it can be pretty entertaining how bluntly he words things. No thinking whatsoever, just speaking outright comes to his mind.
