Reiner grips my hands a little tighter. "I...I like you. A lot," he stammers. "You're on my mind all the time." He looks down at his lap, shaking his head before looking up at me again. "I know it sounds crazy, but... I think...

"Oh would you lighten up already?" Jean jokingly nudges me as we ride in the many carriages along the others on the way to the port to greet our new visitors.
I haven't been in the best of mood since Hange announced our newfound alliance with some of the Marlyeans almost two weeks ago. And why would I? It's absolutely bizarre to think about. We are just gonna casually let the enemy waltz right in and just trust that they will help us modernize our country without any sort of ulterior motive.
I get it. We are extremely behind in ways I couldn't even begin to imagine. But I just can't help but think the decision to allow these people into our homes was too rushed. They have burned us one too many times. They are the source of our once greatest threat, the titans. It all just seems too premature to me. But I have to have faith in Hange and Levi. I know they would only have the best interest in what would benefit our people as a whole.
"I'm just staying on guard." I finally reply to Jean as the carriage bumps along the path. "And you should too. We all need to remain on guard. We can't fully trust that these people don't have some underlying game plan going on.
"Blair's right." Mikasa speaks up. "We all need to be on the look out for any suspicious activity. Who knows what they could be planning right under our noses."

The smell of the salty sea starts to fill my nose as we close in on the dock. It's funny that not so long ago we didn't know such a thing existed. A once prized rare commodity, soon became an abundant stock. We now have access to more salt than we know what to do with.
As the carriage comes to a stop we all jump out to trek the rest of the way to the port. I shield my eyes from the burning sun as I walk up the small hill. Finally reaching the top, I let out a small huff of air. My hands rest on my hips as I take in the view. Despite being a scout, I don't come to the port very often.
"Here goes nothing." I hear Connie's voice as he makes his way past me.
My chest rises then falls as I take in another deep breath. My eyes watching as the incoming ship prepares to dock. There's already a bunch of other scouts running back and forth completing their various tasks.
I finally step forward moving closer to Armin, closer to the ship's exit.
He turns as I appear next to him. "Are you ready?"
My lips press together before I softly shake my head no. "I don't think I'll ever be."
The first bunch of people that step off the ship are nothing out of the ordinary. They are quickly greeted then whisked away to the waiting carriages at the bottom of the hill. The person that comes off next is also nothing special, tall and lanky with short blonde hair. Who follows behind them is what shocks me the most.
A man, tall with dark skin. It catches me off guard, someone with features so close in comparison to mine. Of course, it's not an exact match. Our skin color, hair and height is different. But it's clear we share something, a connection lost in time. This is the first time I've ever seen someone remotely similar to me.
Armin speaks before I can, clearly not overwhelmed with shock like me.
"Welcome to Paradis." He says, with a slight bow of his head.
The blonde one speaks first, I assume the more talkative of the two. "Thank you for having us. I am Yelena, and this is Onyankopon."
Her voice surprises me, she's a woman, I would have never guessed. And the more I stare as her, the more I see a slight resemblance to Armin. I mean it's obvious they are two different people of course. But, if they wore matching clothes or if they were far away. I doubt I would be able to make out the difference between the two.
"I'm Blair." I finally manage to speak out. "The carriages are waiting right this way, just down the hill. Where we will then make the journey back into the city." I motion with my hand as I turn onto my heels to lead the way with Armin.
As we stop in front of one of the many carriages, I finally get the courage to turn and speak to Onyankopon.
"Are you...are there others like you in Marley? I mean, like us?"
His eyes flicker to meet mine, he's silent for a moment as if thinking before he offers me a soft smile. "Not really, maybe a handful. But...I've heard there's many countries with lots and lots of people like us."
My eyes widen as I hear this and I can't help but smile. "Wow really? You are the first person I ever met like me, besides my parents." I pause before trailing off. "But they are gone now."
"I'm sorry to hear that." He pauses to extend his hand. "I know we've already introduced ourselves but it's nice to meet you Blair. Perhaps I can teach you some knowledge about our people."
I place my hand in his, gripping it firmly. "Likewise and I'd like that a lot."
Yelena walks up to us with Armin closely behind. "You know, I think I've heard stories about you before." She says, nodding her chin in my direction.
"Me?" I scoff, letting out a short laugh as my eyebrows crinkle together. "I doubt it."
Onyankopon places a hand on his chin as he thinks for a moment. "Wait, I think Yelena is right. I can't quite remember it's been a long journey and the days just kind of morph together." He pauses for a moment before his eyes light up. "Oh yes! I remember now. It was—"
"Blair!" He's cut off by the sound of an out of breath Connie running towards us.
My eyes widen as I let out a laugh of disbelief. "Geez Connie. We need to work on your cardio, the dock isn't that far off."
He lets out a groan as he puts his hands on his knees, taking deep and ragged breaths. "Shut...Up." He pants out, struggling to breathe between each word. I can barely just make out every other word he says next. "Came...warn...about."
Armin cuts him off, clearly concerned, placing a hand on Connie's shoulder. "Um, maybe you should catch your breath first."
Connie dramatically shakes his head no, still panting. "Can't...Wait."
We all stare at Connie like he has five heads, waiting for him to gather enough air to finally finish whatever he has to tell us.
"Blair!"
We all turn in the direction of a foreign voice. A blur moves down the hill, too far away to make any features as they run down. As the figure gets closer and closer, my heart stops. Everything moves in slow motion at the sight of him. He's even taller now, if that's possible. With his bulging muscles and facial hair, he's a proper man now. But that dirty blonde hair, it has never changed. The man I know all too well, Reiner.
