The night was calm outside Prig Classic Kitchen, but inside, it was not. Customers came and went, laughter and chatter filled the air, while Bow and Mint worked tirelessly in the kitchen. Plates clattered, and the aromas of traditional Thai cuisine wafted through the restaurant. In one corner, Professor Satorn sat across from Ling, who was visibly tense after hearing his grave news.

"How's your condition? Feeling better?" Professor Satorn asked as he put down his glass of watermelon juice.

"Better than ever," Ling replied with a forced smile. "But you didn't come here just to check on me, did you? You sound serious."

"I am," Professor Satorn sighed, his eyes meeting hers with a rare intensity. "I've sent samples of Orm's blood to various labs, including one in Hong Kong. The results came back... and there's something you need to know."

"That's sounds major. What is it?" Ling leaned forward, her breath hitching.

"Orm has hunter DNA," Professor Satorn said flatly. "It's highly likely she's a descendant of vampire hunters. If that's the case, it changes everything."

"No... That can't be," Ling's face paled.

"I think she was actually watching all of us before their hunting community made plans to come and attack us," Professor Satorn spoke his concern.

"She wouldn't lie to me, and I've seen her care, her genuine affection. It wasn't an act," Ling still in shocked to accept the fact.

"Are you sure, Ling?" Professor Satorn's voice grew softer. "Because if Orm truly has hunter blood... her very existence poses a threat to you, to us."

"I felt my heart pound for the first time in centuries when I kissed her," Ling murmured, almost to herself. She thought back to the first passionate kiss they had shared in Paris.

"Your heart what? It started to beat?" Professor Satorn's eyes widened. "That's remarkable!"

"Could it mean that I'm close to becoming human?" Ling's expression brightened momentarily.

"It could be," Professor Satorn nodded slowly. "Our experiments over the past centuries pointed to something like this. Blood from a descendant of hunters may hold the key to reversing vampirism."

"I'm glad she's the one who can turn me into mortal," Ling said with a big smile.

"Finally, your dreams will come true," Professor Satorn looked overjoyed to hear that. "Come to the lab tomorrow. Let's run another test on it."

"When I become a human, Orm will also be happy, right?" Ling smiled.

"What do you mean by that? Why would you say that when you must sacrifice her to become human?" Professor Satorn said.

"What are you saying? I mean... offering a few drops of blood as usual she did, is not a big sacrifice, right?" Ling asked with a frown.

Professor Satorn responded with a long sigh. No words could describe it as he could see Ling was already in love with Orm.

"Why are you being like this?" Ling panicked.

"There's more you need to understand. Orm cannot be happy with this."

"What do you mean?" Ling's expectations wavered.

"That's the fate of the hunter family. They must either die after giving up their blood or kill the vampires in order to live. Now the choice is between you or Orm only," Professor Satorn explained.

"Nonsense," Ling still couldn't believe with what she just heard.

"To truly complete the transformation to become human, the vampire must suck the hunter's blood till dry. It's not a matter of a few drops of blood. It's either you or her, Ling."
