Jungkook stood in the heart of the facility, the core pulsing ominously with energy, feeling the pressure building within the very structure itself. The air was thick with tension, and every second was a countdown, not just for the failsafe but for his own life. The last piece of the puzzle clicked into place, and he activated the sequence that would initiate the failsafe protocol.

“Y/n,” he whispered to himself, his heart aching with a strange mixture of fear and determination.

In the control room, Y/n was a whirlwind of anxiety. The screens displayed readings that sent chills down her spine. "We have to get him out!" she shouted, desperation creeping into her voice. Seokjin was still trying to override the lockdown, fingers flying over the keyboard, but the system was too far gone.

"Y/n, listen to me!" Seokjin said, looking at her with fierce intensity. "You cannot go in there! The facility is going to collapse! I can’t lose you too!"

Y/n shook her head vehemently. "He’s my responsibility, Seokjin! I created him for a reason. I have to save him!"

Without waiting for his response, she turned and bolted toward the entrance to the core. She was not just a creator but someone who had developed a bond with Jungkook that transcended their initial purpose. Every step felt heavy with the weight of her decision, but she pressed on.

The walls of the corridor glowed red, an eerie alarm echoing in her ears as she reached the entry to the core. It was a maze of flickering lights and buzzing machinery, almost alive in its intensity. She took a deep breath, steeling herself against the fear and chaos. She couldn’t allow the thought of failure to creep in.

---

Inside the core, Jungkook’s mind raced as he monitored the failing systems. The energy levels were skyrocketing, and he knew he had little time. Just as he finished inputting the final codes, a violent tremor shook the ground beneath him.

“Y/n!” he shouted into the comm link, desperately hoping for a response.

But there was only silence.

Panic surged through him, his mechanical heart racing as he considered the possibility that she might not be safe. No, he thought. She has to be safe. The connection they had formed was too strong to sever. He could feel her presence with him, urging him to push forward.

The core began to shake more violently, and Jungkook steadied himself against the console, concentrating on the task at hand. He was so close, but with each second, he felt the weight of time pressing down upon him.

He took a deep breath, channeling every ounce of focus he had into the task before him. Activate failsafe, protect Y/n and Seokjin. Those thoughts echoed in his mind as he pressed a sequence of buttons that would seal the core’s energy output.

---

Outside, Y/n reached the entrance to the core and slammed her hand against the control panel. The door opened with a mechanical hiss, and she stepped inside, only to be greeted by chaos. Sparks flew, and the air was thick with smoke and the scent of burning circuitry.

“Jungkook!” she called, her voice strained against the noise.

“Y/n!” his voice came through the comm link, a breath of relief flooding through her.

She spotted him at the central console, surrounded by the ominous glow of the core. He looked up, his eyes meeting hers, and for a moment, everything else faded away.

“I’m here!” she shouted, moving closer.

“Get out of here!” he insisted, panic rising in his voice. “I’m almost done! You need to leave!”
