Percy's POV
Percy's dream was not pleasant. He expected as much though. The past few days had been ups and downs galore. Khione turned him into a human popsicle, Leo was blown away, he had to sit below deck while Jason manoeuvred the ship, something Percy could have done.
Following that, Leo pops up again, which made him happy, only to drop the bombshell that he had a run in with Calypso. Percy wasn't sure his heart could take any more of these sudden changes in emotion.
All that meant was that when a dream did come to him. Percy was expecting either great news. Like his dad telling him everything was good and that they had beat Gaea so he could go home, or something absolutely horrible. He got the latter.
The dream started with a snarl. A loud snapping sound right beside his ear that made Percy jump and almost shocked him awake. He instinctively backed away from it, reaching for a weapon he didn't have.
When his mind finally settled, he looked around to see what was going on. He couldn't see much, anything further than a few feet of him was obscured, but from what he could see, he knew his friends were in trouble.
The first thing he noticed as he looked at them in concern was the fact that they were dead. That alone made his heart hammer out of his chest, he screamed for both of them but his cries fell on deaf ears.
Adrenaline flooded his body, he knew it was a dream consciously, but the shock of seeing two of his closest friends in the world dead was debilitating for a moment. He was stunned, so stunned in fact that he didn't notice the two corpses were walking.
In fact it was only when the two corpses of his friends began conversing that he calmed down. The one that looked like Annabeth said "What do we do now?" The (Y/N) corpse replied, "Uhhh, get up there. Free Bob, improvise, win, go home." Annabeth's corpse sighed, "Wonderful."
Knowing that corpses didn't usually talk or walk, this calmed Percy down immensely. He chalked it up to what he always did when something like this happened. (Y/N) was doing some sort of weird magic again.
As Percy breathed a relieved sigh, he heard a booming voice yell "QUIET!" His head turned to see the lumbering form of a cyclops behind them. That was when a few more things came into focus for Percy.
He saw the monsters surrounding them on all sides. Pointing weapons at his friends and leading them somewhere. Another more gentler voice spoke on the other side of Percy. He turned to see the ghost of (Y/N)'s mother.
"(Y/N) honey, forgive me, but don't you think it's better to think of something a little more concrete when walking towards a vengeful goddess?" Percy frowned, vengeful goddess, had Khione attacked them too, had Gaea made her move?
As usual, (Y/N) shrugged. "Nah, I've been improvising for years, hasn't failed me yet. As for the vengeful goddess." He paused, his voice taking a softer tone, "Well, I've been ready for this for a long time."
"I SAID QUIET!" Raged the cyclops, before thrusting a spear the size of a telephone pole towards Percy's friends. He wanted to yell at them to "Look out!" but couldn't find his voice. Not that it mattered anyway.
Using his truly staggering intellect, the cyclops had decided that the best of the three to attack was the incorporeal ghost, the spear passed through her harmlessly. "My, aren't you just the brightest bulb in the bunch." She mused sarcastically as the spear passed straight through her. "Poseidon must be so proud."
"He can barely see us remember." Annabeth scoffed, (M/N) looked at her and nodded, "Oh, right you are. Sorry big guy. Poseidon's still coming to your birthday party." The cyclops gasped, "Really!" (Y/N) sighed, "Who wants to break it to him?"
