(Y/N)'s POV

When the laughter died down, they were left with a looming silence. The situation they were in made them all tense. The sound of monsters shuffling outside the barrier made them all nervous.

But they had priorities. "Is Small Bob ok?" (Y/N) asked Bob, who nodded as a distinct meow was heard under his shirt. "How about you bud, how are you feeling?" He asked. Bob smiled, "In pain." He said, (Y/N) frowned but pointed outside.

"You got enough juice in you to go crack some skulls?" He said hopefully to the Titan, to his disappointment. Bob replied with a simple, "No." If the giant janitor hadn't given (Y/N) the most wholesome smile out of it, (Y/N) might have snapped.

"Okay, new plan. Who knows how to kill 100 monsters and escape?" Annabeth asked, (Y/N) raised his hand, both his mother and Annabeth turned to him and in unison said "We can't fight them."

"Of course we can. We have the death mist, they can't even see us." (Y/N) said, "No," Bob repeated, "They will see you, Nemesis is strong, and angry, she will lend her eyes. She wants you to die, she wants them to kill you."

(M/N) sighed, "Wonderful. Charming lady she is. Now, betting's not really my forte, but I would bet that stone won't hold her for long, and even if she died, she'll be on her way back now, we need to get out of here, quick."

A voice echoed in (Y/N)'s mind, Nemesis voice. "She's right. I'm coming to get you-" "Barbara?" He said in his mind, cutting the connection between them and making the decision to not tell the others about the exchange.

Simply because he was embarrassed, it was "They're," not "I'm." That reference was a stretch, even for him. "So what do we do? Hold out here until the big guy gets his strength back?" "Maybe, how long would that take Bob?"

"Less than days, more than minutes." He said, "Hours? Great." Annabeth said sardonically, she turned to (Y/N), "How long will this barrier last?" "Against monsters, less than years, more than days. Against Nemesis or Typhon. Less than a second, more than nothing."

"Can you stop that?" She said, massaging her temples, trying to think. (Y/N) spoke up. "I want to fight them." He said, Annabeth nodded, "That looks like our only choice, we fight them until we have a chance to escape." (Y/N) nodded, surprised at her willingness.

"But they'll just come back, like Medusa." "Some of the more dangerous ones, sure, but not the fodder." "So, what do we do?" His mother asked, but then answered her own question. "The one thing we know works, the one thing we can do." She picked up Medusa's head.

"Thank you, Aunty Em." Annabeth smirked. "Okay, cool. I can deal with them." "I?" Annabeth looked at him, "We." She demanded, "You can't go out there alone. We'll fight them together!" "Okay, I think my plan has been lost in translation here." He said.

"To reiterate, I. want to fight them, me, solo. So, I'm going to give control over this shadow to Bob, you three can go walk to safety, I'll kill the hundred, then meet you there. Bob can you do that."

The Titan nodded happily. Annabeth and his mother did not. "That's ridiculous!" "Don't be dumb, idiot!" He sighed, "I knew you would say that, and I love you for it. But please, this is something I want to deal with on my own."

"The hundred are my mess, I want to clean them up." He said, Annabeth shouted "That's stupid!" He nodded, "I know. But please guys, just trust me, this is the way it has to be, I can feel it in my gut."

"I trust you." Bob said helpfully. "No, absolutely not, I won't-" (Y/N) kissed Annabeth, cutting her off. "I've dealt with them before, when I was a kid, now I'm not-" "And you're not alone!" She countered.

He sighed. "The kissing usually works huh?" His mom said off to the side. He nodded. "Annabeth please, trust me." He said, she frowned, "I do trust you but, you can't-" "I can." He said firmly.
