(Y/N)'s POV
"AAAHHH!" (Y/N) woke up screaming, in a cold sweat. His head pounding and his heart racing, he found a hand gripping his arm and heard someone say something, but he was so gripped with terror, he barely heard it.
Pain stung at his chest, making breathing even harder, until he was grounded by the voice beside him, Annabeth spoke. "(Y/N). It's fine, you're okay, the fight is over." (Y/N) blinked a few times, suddenly realizing where he was.
A room shrouded in darkness, so bleak even the walls seemed like they were about to crumble, stone framed all four corners of it, the only light being some flickering torches that never lasted long here.
He was laid on a slab of granite that looked pretty close to an above ground tomb, only covered by a thin cloth, as if a mortician had covered him. He recognised it immediately. It was his room in Tartarus.
The room was just big enough to fit what Nyx called a bed and a small chair beside it. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust, and then he saw Annabeth sat beside him, holding his hand. "Bad dream?" She asked.
"The worst nightmare I've ever had in my life." He said breathlessly. Annabeth squeezed his shoulder, "Hey, it's fine, Nyx is back now, she's even letting us stay, Nox can't cause any more trouble."
"Oh, no, not about that." He said, "Something much worse. Much darker." "Then nearly dying in Tartarus?" Annabeth said with a hint of scepticism. He recalled the horror he had endured. "This time it was the sea of monsters."
Annabeth caught on, "This again? (Y/N) it's just a dream, you have bigger worries." He shuddered, "No, I have to talk this out with someone, I might be going nuts." Annabeth rolled her eyes, "Fine, were you at least in this one?" "Nope, thank the gods."
"You were blonde this time at least...sort of. Tyson was there, his hair was all like 'Psssh'" (Y/N) mimed his hair, "It was dope. Grover was pretty much the same, but Percy looked fine, but it was nothing ground breaking, if it were me, I'd have-"
"-Can you move on from the haircuts please?" "Sorry, it's the Aphrodite in me. Anyway, remember the sea of monsters." "Vividly, yes." Annabeth said. "Well, my dream started weird. I think maybe because I used to compete so much on the climbing wall back then."
"Compete is a strong word but go on." Annabeth grinned, she had long since reclaimed her title as queen of the climbing wall. "Well, in my dream, you guys had a quest to recover the fleece already."
"They had a big tournament to see who would go on the quest." "Oh, the chariot race that was fun." "Nah, it was like the lava wall, but lame. Like a weird game of Ker-plunk. But with no Lava or traps, or anything fun." "Nothing, no barbed wire, no buzzsaws?" Annabeth said, appalled.
"Nope, nothing fun. It just sort of span. I mean, any demigod I know could have absolutely crushed that course without even breaking a sweat. Anyway, Percy jumped off, being all noble. Clarisse won. She was...Clarisse was...odd. Not bad, just odd, she was one of the better parts...for reasons I won't specify."
"Excuse you, and odd how?" He shrugged, trying to sum it up. "Well, I'll just say our Clarisse could probably rip that Clarisse in half-" Annabeth seized her moment to tease "Oh so dreaming about other women? Bold thing to admit to my face ghost boy."
He chuckled, but every exhale hurt, He shook his head. "I haven't even got to the bit with Grover in a wedding dress yet. It was the highlight." They both reminisced about that sight and giggled to each other.
"Uh, Tyson just sort of shows up, you don't even let him in he's just free to enter. After that the mechanical bull attacked. Just one though. You guys all scramble to defeat it, as if like 50 demigods would struggle against one single mechanical monster-"
