January 1989 - LA

Maeve's POV

While Michael continued touring I had to go back to the rehab center to finish therapy.

Although Michael's schedule didn't allow any visits, we talked everyday on the phone.

Today was the last day of his first solo tour and initially I intended to go, since it's also the date I get discharged from the clinic. But since it's the last concert the media attention is just too big for me to sneak in and out safely without getting caught.

After tonight's concert, that happened to be in LA, Michael will spend the night at Hayvenhurst and we'll meet tomorrow at the altar.

Yes, Michael just finished the tour and the first thing we do, is getting married. He just didn't want to waste more time than needed.

After this stressful day, filled with preparations for the wedding, mostly led and decided by Janet, LaToya and Rebbie, I was happy to finally be in bed.

I was about to drift off to sleep when I felt the mattress shift next to me as familiar arms wrapped around me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked surprised.

"I wanted to see you, I couldn't wait until tomorrow" he admitted while starting to kiss my neck.

A soft moan escaped my mouth but Michael was quick to place his fingers on my mouth.

"Sssh" he whispered. "They're still here."

I knew exactly who he meant, his sisters. And if they knew that he was here with me, they'd kick him out immediately.

I mean, it's not like we've never been intimate, but I guess they're just a little superstitious.

"Can you be quiet for me? Just for tonight" his voice was low and raspy, probably exhausted from today's show.

I nodded slowly while biting my lips before grabbing his face and pulling him in so that our lips can finally meet.

"Good morn- MAEVE? OH MY GOD"

My eyes shot open at Janet's screaming and I watched her turn around quickly.

I heard Michael's laugh next to me as he held on to the covers since we were both naked underneath.

"What the hell are you doing here Mike?" she questioned, her back still facing us.

"I don't think this is any of your business" Michael said, snuggling closer to me and staring to kiss my neck again. I giggled softly.

"Eww" Janet said and slammed the door shut behind her.

"YOU HAVE 10 MINUTES! WE NEED TO GET HER READY!" We heard her screaming from outside the room.

"That's more than enough for me" Michael said before he brought his attention back to my neck.

My hands trailed in his hair while I enjoyed the sweet little kisses he left on skin.

"Michael?" I moaned but he ignored me.

"Michael?" I moaned again, this time louder, making him stop and look at me.

"We're getting married this afternoon" I smiled widely at him.

"I know" he said and was about to continue what he was doing but I stopped him.

"As much as I want you to continue, I need to get ready" I told him.

"Ok" he sighted before giving me one more peck on the lips.

He first got himself dressed and then helped me with my clothes before lifting me into my wheelchair.

"I guess, I'll see you later then?" Michael's hands were on each side of my wheelchair, while his forehead rested on mine.

"I'll be the one in white" I let him know, causing him to chuckle lightly.

"I can't wait, Mrs. Soon-to-be Jackson" he kissed me one last time before he left.

I watched him and Janet talk outside the room as LaToya and Rebbie made their way up to me.

LaToya's gaze flickered from me to the bed where messy sheets and pillows were spread everywhere. She raised an eyebrow as her gaze shifted back to me.

While I thought of the beautiful night Michael and I shared, I tried to bite my lip to make me think of something else. Of course, it didn't help and I blushed a dark shade of red.

"Let's get you ready" Rebbie said and started to push my wheelchair out of the room.

While we were each getting our hair and makeup done, Jennifer and Sheryl joined us since they are apart of my bridesmaids.

Of course, LaToya and Rebbie had nothing better to do than inform them, that they found Michael in my bed this morning and they were now goshing about how inappropriate all of this was.

At some point I stopped listening because I really wanted to enjoy this day and Michael and I's relationship is just not the perfect picture book relationship. We do things differently and that's ok. We are different.

"Let's just not talk about what Maeve did with our brother, it's non of our business" Janet shut them up and I smiled at her weakly.

Since my time at the clinic, Janet and I grew even closer than before. From the beginning her and Tito were the only ones that visited me on a regular basis while Michael was busy touring.

They were also the only ones that know my little secret.
