Chapter I: Chandra, The Pyromaster

Chapter I

I am Chandra Nalaar, 14 years old, a girl who doesn't have a home. Well, I had one, but it got destroyed. At that time I should've helped. It was 5 years ago when we were attacked. In that day, in the morning before it happened, I told my mom that I will just go to the mountains and practice my magic but when I got back, I saw my village burning and all the people are lying down in the ground with grave wounds like a bear attacked them. But no bear could've done that. I ran to my home, scared and trembling. There I saw my brother, lying down and bleeding too much that the floor is already covered with blood. I checked his pulse and he's still alive. He opened his eyes.

"Chandra, the scrolls." he said weakly. "Protect the scrolls."

That was his last words.

I ran away while tears kept falling down my face. I went directly to the chamber of scrolls underground and saw my father fighting some people with green auras.

"Green Mages." I whispered.

My father is severely wounded.

"Dad!" I shouted.

"Chandra! I'm glad you're alright." He said while smiling like an idiot. I really loved my dad.

"Take this!" He said and threw the golden scroll to me. I caught it.

"Your nature of being dependent on your emotions and your unstableness creates disorder and destroys nature. You red mages should be annihilated!" one of the green mages said.

One of their wolfs ran and tried to attack me but dad created an impassable wall of fire.

"Run!" Dad screamed.

"But-" I was going to reason with him and fight the green mages but he interrupted.

"RUN!" He screamed while throwing spheres of fire to the wolfs.

The wolfs were hit but they regenerate fast. Maybe that's one of the reasons we lost to them. I ran and ran further and further away, tears falling from my face.

I never came back since then. The only thing I saved from my village was the scroll. I lived in the Red Plane, doing missions and tasks other red mages offer like stealing items and assassinations of certain mages of other colors.

I know I am a murderer, but so does the green mages.

And I don't regret the things I've done in my life.
