Twenty Five
🌸🌸🌸SOMETHING DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT.
Oren raised his head from his guitar again, sweeping his gaze around the park he sat in.
"Are you okay?" the girl he talked to asked in concern
"Yeah" he smiled down at her, even when it was hard to understand the unsettling feeling in him.
He shut his eyes for a moment and uttered a prayer:
Lord, what is this feeling?
It was as if something was going to happen.
"Lord, what are you trying to tell me?" He whispered
A truck from Wellingtons Candy drove past, their logo big and colorful on the vehicle.
The jar of jellybeans stood out to him and he instantly thought of beans.
"Wellingtons is back in business? No way!" The little girl jumped up to her feet "Thanks Oren, for the prayer"
He smiled "You're welcome, Penny. Don't forget our show on Friday"
"Definitely I'll be there, with my friends of course. We got tickets" she assured
He bade her farewell and as soon as he was alone again, the same uneasiness filled him.
I should call Jaden and Everest, he thought.
Jaden was doing alright at work, Everest too.
So what?
He packed his guitar and got up.
Maybe he just needed to relax, take a stroll or something.
He recognized people from the neighbourhood, they waved at him, others couldn't stop commending his music.
When the cafe came in view, he remembered he had to check on Harry.
"Son, I'm glad you visited. What do I get you?" Harry seemed fine. His smile warmer than ever.
"Water actually"
Harry frowned slightly, "You alright, son?"
He sighed and raked his hair, feeling the need to share.
"I feel uneasy about something"
Harry thought for a moment "How long?"
"Just this afternoon...I feel like the Lord is trying to tell me something I just don't know what"
Harry hummed in thought " Have you prayed about it?"
He nodded "Every second. The feeling gets heavier by the minute, I feel like someone's in trouble"
Harry pressed his lips into a line and patted his hand. "Lord give us your peace, don't let anyone get hurt"
"Amen"

Asher got off the bus and realized her wallet was missing, that and the last ten bucks she carried around.
She sighed and manged to put herself together.
She hugged her arms and easily mixed in the animated crowd, her mind was a haze as always and all she craved right then was to be in her safe haven.
She continued to walk up the sidewalk, feeling her legs give out.
She resorted to crossing the road and glanced at the sign to be safe.
"Olivia!!" A voice called and she froze in her tracks, her head turned to search for the source of that oddly familiar voice amidst the hurrying crowd of pedestrians.
She looked to her left and there he stood.
"No..." Her heart sunk to her stomach.
It couldn't be...
He raised a hand to wave, his face splitting with a crooked smile.
Asher heard a set of car honks behind her and fought to move her legs from her spot.
Her heart raced a thousand times faster, her brain urging her forward as she stared at the oncoming truck.
Her nerves sprang into action and adrenaline filled her veins, she could see the driver of the truck look away from the rear view mirror too late to slam the brakes, in the last bit of time she thought she had, she forced herself to slip away.
Just two steps was all she took before she felt her body propelled through the wind and crashing hard on the tar with her head to the side.
She saw people still, she heard gasps and shouts of horror as the area her head laid felt wet. Her vision blurred, making it hard to see the men who came towards her paralyzed form.
With a weak cough, she blacked out.
