Marshmallow's POV:
Apple sent me a message during lunch.
I quickly tapped on the notification, hiding behind one of the trees outside. Someone started a food fight in the cafeteria, which is why everyone is outside. Bow joined in, but she managed to not get caught in the process. She's just smart like that. I went to Apple's contact, looking at her message.
Apeel_hAsbrein: Marshy!!!
Apeel_hAsbrein: OMG OMG OMG IM SOOOO SORRI I DINT RESPUND!!!
Apeel_hAsbrein: im sick i got sum pretti bad naoseea
I laughed, quickly texting back, my fingers flying over the keyboard.
MarshyMelodies: lol do u mean nausea?
Apeel_hAsbrein: THATS WHUT I SAID!!! and ive also bin vomiteeng
I've started to get used to Apple's bad spelling. She does this all the time. I nodded to myself, texting back again.
MarshyMelodies: oof that sucks...well I hope u feel better soon!! Sad u had to get sick on the first day. :(
Apeel_hAsbrein: yeh it sucks but my mom has bin givin mee soup and i feel alot better niww!! Tell bow I said hi ok??? BYEEEEE
I texted a quick waving emoji and shut off my phone, sighing. So that's why she's not here. My next sigh was a sigh of relief—it wasn't anything too bad. Just a sick day.
"Hey, Marshmallow?"
I jumped and turned around, finding Bow. I exhaled in relief. "Bow! You scared me...Apple texted back—she said she's sick. She also told me to say hi to you."
Bow grinned. "Oh! I was going to ask you about Apple, but nevermind. I'll text her hello back after school. Wait—should we visit her? We should totally visit her! I don't have any gifts ready, though...darn..."
I shook my head sadly. "Can't...I'm kind of busy tonight. My mom needs me to do so many chores and help out around the house. By the time I'm done, it'll be my bedtime."
Bow snapped her fingers. "Aw, man! You know what? I'll just go on my own and tell Apple that you weren't able to come. Now what gift should I give her?" She tapped a finger onto her chin, lost in thought. "How about a bracelet?" I suggested, shrugging.
Bow stared at me in amazement. "Why didn't I think of that? I'll use all her favorite colors—and instead of one bracelet, I'll make multiple! Coolness!" she exclaimed. The bell rang, echoing across the field, signaling for everyone to head to their afternoon classes. "Oh, come on! Whatever, I'll make her bracelets after school, before I visit her." Bow sighed. "Come on, Marsh! We have Science next—I heard the new teacher is a bit strict, so I'm guessing they won't be happy if we're late." She said, grabbing my arm and dragging me inside the building. I followed, running to my locker to get my things for science.
I really hope Apple gets better soon.
Paintbrush's POV:
So, I met this guy named OJ, a ginger-haired fellow with a personality that's like a golden-retriever. Outgoing and trustworthy at first sight. We met in the hallway, after lunch, when I bumped into him in the hallway. He started to introduce himself, and before I knew it, he was introducing me to his other friends, Knife, Pickle, and Paper. They were friendly enough.
Anyway, it was the end of the day, and I was just waiting to catch the bus. My parents can't pick me up by car ride because they always work late. My phone dings, and I pull it out to get a notification from a group chat I've never seen before. I clicked on it, and noticed it was called "The Bright Lights." I immediately knew that this was the group chat Lightbulb was talking about earlier. In the chat, a few messages were already there.
