Y/n's Pov:
Today was the day David was going to show off his skills to get on the school's basketball team. He said he wanted me to be there in the stands and he said he would feel better if I was there. I don't know why he said that though, he would have done perfectly fine without me. I was in the stands feeling some eyes on me as I sat down. One of the guys, I think his name was Baxter, was shooting from the 3 point line and made it into the basket. He kept glancing at me out of the corner of his eye, probably wondering why I was watching.
"If you keep shooting like that, we might actually win gold this year," one of the guys on the court said to Baxter.
"Well, it wasn't me who can't make a shot for his life," Baxter accused, glancing towards one of his other teammates.
"Nice work, Baxter. Maybe your best shot yet," the coach announced.
"Good. Then, if it's settled, and I'm captain again, let's get one thing clear..." Baxter starts.
"Hang on. I think there's one more guy. David Prince," the coach calls out looking at his clipboard.
"Ugh, the new girl," Baxter says, crossing his arms.
"Lift me, Boreas. Let your wintery breath keep me aloft," I hear David mutter to himself pickin up the basketball and walking to half-court.
"Prince!" the coach yells growing impatient. David takes the ball in his hands and jumps up to take the shot. I watch, along with the basketball players, the ball sail over the court and into the basket swiftly.
"Maybe we should have co-captains this year," the coach wonders out loud.
"What? Absolutely not!" Baxter yells.
"Okay. Congratulations, Prince! You're the new team captain," the coach declares as the team celebrates and graduates David, who was smiling at me the whole time. I smile at David looking happy and Baxter seemed to notice right before storming off in anger.

Baxter's Pov:
I pulled up by the front of the school after class in my expensive car, yelling to the people out front, "Hello, everyone! Pool party at my house!"
"Sorry, Baxter, we're gonna stay and help David decorate for the dance," one of the guys on my basketball team says.
"Join us. There will be camaraderie and merriment," David says with that smile that I hate so much. I tune out their praise for David as Y/n comes up from in front of my car walking towards David. I have had a crush on Y/n since my dad was invited to one of Edna Mode's shows where I met Y/n. She was someone so perfect that she was practically made to be with me. If I can't get everyone to give me attention, I can get my beautiful Y/n to give me it or even better, go with her to the dance.
"Hey gorgeous! Wanna have a pool party at my place?" I ask leaning over my car door towards Y/n.
I watch Y/n shake her head saying, "Sorry, I have to stay after school for a project I need to get done. Sorry Bax, maybe tomorrow."
"Do you at least wanna go to the dance with-" I tried to finish, but she was unable to hear me, through the praise my teammates were yelling towards David, as she walked off.
I grabbed my wheel once she left and screamed driving off not caring about the weird looks I got. I ran into my house, after parking my car frustrated, and ran up to my dad's office. I tried to open the door? but looked down to see a chain and a lock keeping the door closed shut. I grabbed a nearby candelabra and broke the chain.
"Nice try, Daddy," I mutter walking over the cursed objects observing them, "Too quick. Too humane. Too humorous. David Prince, little mister perfect, well, I've got the perfect curse for the perfect guy. Woe to he in Cheetah's path, for he shall feel the Cheetah's wrath, by claw and fang, and with spite and hate, swift as wind, he'll seal your fate!" I hold it into the air, but after a moment of holding it, I threw it to the side muttering, "Useless thing."

Y/n's Pov:
David had me and the guys gathered outside the auditorium so he could show us how well the decorating went. I still needed to finish my school project, but I promised David that I would see his progress. I'll probably go and do it after this.
"It is with great excitement I anticipate sharing what the decorating committee has done," David says holding the door handle.
"And it is with great excitement I anticipate the dance!" Barajas says bouncing around.
"But I don't know how to dance," Ken mumbled, hiding in his regular yellow and brown striped sweater.
"Fear not, young Ken, for I possess dance moves that are rich with fleek. You're welcome to study them," David says, putting a hand on Ken's shoulder. Barajas started singing a random tune until David opened up the auditorium doors to reveal reared up streamers, popped balloons, and ripped decorations
"Looks like someone already "tore it up," Kari says laughing, nudging my side.
"Not the moment Kari. Not the moment," I reply.
"Instead of cutting a rug, they cut the posters," Kari continues looking around the auditorium trying to lighten the mood.
"No, I mean, it's literally not funny Kari," I respond as I look around too.
"Maybe... Maybe the dance shouldn't have booked a band that shreds so hard," Kari continues not getting the hint. I glared at him until he smiled sheepishly, finally getting the hint.
"Guys, we better hurry before people think they've slashed the ticket prices," Kari mutters still trying to lighten the mood.
Suddenly Diana flies across the auditorium into some ripped up streamers with a few bruisers forming. The guys go over to David while I stayed behind a bit. I swear I saw someone looking at me with greenish eyes. I just shake it off thinking it was probably a rat or some animal.
"Diana? What happened? Who did this to you?" Jesse asks as I go over to help David.
"I don't know. Something knocked into me. It came from nowhere," David replies stunned yet cautious, looking around.
"Don't you see? Clearly, someone is suffering from having their status quo upended by Diana's arrival in Metropolis and he probably somehow stole their girl, and their crippling insecurity most likely caused by absentee parenting, and a lack of proper modeling in childhood..." I tuned the rest of what Barajas was saying seeing a pair of green eyes in the hallway. I remember that I had to get my project finished and if a monster is on the loose I don't want it getting ripped up or anything.
"Then we have to get you somewhere safe," Jesse says, helping David to his feet.
"It ain't Diana that needs protecting," Kari says looking toward me, the guys' stares following.
"Why are you all looking at me like that?" I ask, turning back to them seeing their stares, confused.
David snaps out of it stating, "Whatever it is could be perilous to everyone here. We must find a way to evacuate our fellow students without causing them distress."
Suddenly, the fire alarm sounded and everyone in the building except the guys, even though some of them screamed, and Y/n who stayed in the auditorium.
"What happened to "no distress"?" Jesse yelled out to the emptiness looking towards Kari who pulled the fire alarm.
"Worked, didn't it?" Kari tries to clarify his action.
"Come, men. Let the hunt begin," David say pulling Y/n into the hallway, the lights in the whole building turned off as soon as they stepped into it.
"We have much territory to cover. Let us split ourselves. Y/n you stay here for your safety. Scream if you see the monster," David declares, pushing me into the classroom my school project was in. I watched as David slammed the door shut making sure it was locked before running off with the guys to find the monster. I sighed and sat down next to my project, trying to finish it. I don't know how much time had passed when I finished it. I played with my hair so I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings until I heard the lock from the door unlock. I looked over to the door which was swayed wide open which was weird because I didn't see anybody come in. I looked around the room concerned until I felt a hard hit to the back of my head. I looked up right before I passed out a pair of green eyes. I felt my body being picked up gently as they ran away swiftly as I slipped into the darkness.

I slowly opened my eyes after I felt someone shaking me awake. I was fully conscious when I saw Baxter looking into my eyes.
"Baxter? What happened?" I ask him while trying to sit up with his help. It seemed to be like we were in one of the locker rooms.
"Thank goodness you're okay. I found you in an empty classroom knocked out underneath this weird cheetah monster, but when I tried to get to you it ran away," Baxter explained, but it didn't make sense to me.
"But I felt like I was being carried by someone running away?" I question him. I see him glance away for a moment with his face reddening.
"That was me. I picked you up in my arms after the monster ran away and I brought you to the boys locker room since there was no one in it," Baxter says a bit shyly. I smile at him and hug him so he hugs back, but a bit tighter then he usually does. Suddenly David busts into the locker room with wide eyes looking at me and Baxter.
"Diana, stay away. The monster..." Baxte started backing away a bit from David.
"The Cheetah is gone, Baxter. You're safe now, but why is Y/n here?" David asks putting a hand on Baxter's shoulder.
"Oh, Diana, this is all my fault. I released the Cheetah," Baxter confesses, looking away from both of us.
"You, why?" David gasps
Baxter glances at me before responding, "Because... I was jealous of you."
"You needn't be. One person's success does not preclude another's. Jealousy is a green-eyed monster that will consume you if you do not let it go," David says earnestly.
"You're right, David. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to you too Y/n," Baxter says, hugging me again. I smile knowing he was before hugging him back rubbing his back. We all heard a chattering sound coming from outside the locker room as David muttered, "The Cheetah."
"Go, Diana. I'll be fine. Take Y/n with you, she needs to get her school project. Just go," Baxter says, letting go of me as David takes my hand. Before I could say anything more to Baxter, David pulls me into the hallway away from Baxter. We run down the hallway following the chattering sound until we came upon a frozen Superboy surrounded by the others.
"Kari?! Well this is what you get for all those jokes," I sigh, shaking my head sitting down next to him.
"He can't hear you," Barajas explains, standing next to a still scared Ken.
"He'll be fine, Dove. In about seven hours. What about the monster?" Zack asks sitting down next to me while liking looking back towards David
"She's escaped, for now, but surely, we will face her another day," David explains.
