Y/n's Pov:
After school ended, we all headed to the mall for some new clothes for David so he could pass as a regular teenage boy. I'm willing to let the guys teach him the regular stuff, but if it gets too out of hand I'll step in. We walk into one of the stores and I hear David say, "By the white beard of Zeus, what is this place?"
I go over to stand next to the purple haired guy, who's name I've learned was Zack Zatara, and blocked out Barajas explaining a bunch of different stuff to David. Out of the corner of my eye I watch the guys like a bunch of different clothes onto David's arms. I giggle at how stressed David looked with all the information and items.
"What's so funny, dove?" Zack asks me, confused why I laughed.
I roll my eyes replying, "Dove? Really?"
"Every magician needs their assistant and I know that's you are definitely an assistant," Zack explains and chuckling at my confused expression, "In detention I thought you looked familiar and you were. You're the niece of the famous superhero costume designer, Edna Mode."
I was surprised that he found out so fast, but it'd make sense. Our legal guardians are both pretty famous so we were bound to meet at some point. I was impressed with his observation skills. I was about to say something when we both looked towards the other guys gasping. David had walked out of the fitting room with a bundle of random clothes on him. I look towards Zack nodding as he pulls out his magic wand after tripping Barajas, who was trying to salvage the bundle of clothes. Zack casts a magic spell saying some weird words as purple lights appear transforming the bundle of clothes on David to a very preppy look. Much like what Zack was wearing, but suited to David. Despite Zack being a fancy magician man, he had a pretty good sense of style.
"Gentlemen and Y/n, may I present Diana Prince. Foreign exchange student from Greece. Geek chic," Zack says, bringing David over to a nearby mirror.
"And these garments give me the appearance of a typical mortal male adolescent?" David asks us looking at his clothes as we all agree.
"Good. Then it is my turn," David says determinedly.
-Timeskip-
We were at a top of a apartment building for superhero training, well more like superhero training for the guys. I was just there so I could see their costumes. I swear if one of the has a cape I'm burning it.
"If we are to be a team, then I must know your skills and abilities. You! Name, rank, skills," David says pointing to Jesse.
"Uh... Hi, I'm Jess. I'm a cadet in something called the Green Lantern Corp. And... Oh, boy. Well, see, I was given this power ring by these weird aliens. They are sort of like space cops and they patrol these different sectors. You know what, the whole thing is really complicated. I can make stuff with this ring," Jesse explains pointing to the ring. He also started making different things according to Barajas's wishes.
"With this ring of the gods, you may produce any weapon imaginable to beat your enemies into submission?" David asks stopping Barajas from shouting anymore things.
"Well, in theory, yes. But I don't believe in violence," Jesse explains.
David asks, nodding, "Admirable. So how shall you be known?"
"Green Lantern? Kinda comes with the ring," Jesse says as a green light transforms him into his regular hero costume which was a classic green tight suit with his signature symbol in the middle. I walked over to Jesse walking around him while David examined Barajas so had a cape, but since he was my first friend I'll let it go for now.
"I like your suit very fashion forward Jesse," I say as I finish examining his superhero suit
"Oh thanks Y/n. Not to seem rude, but why are you here again?" Jesse asks me while putting a hand behind his head.
"Well there's no point in heading since you'll hear it from Zack because I'm pretty sure he's already told the rest of the team, but I'm here for some tips on being a hero and your superhero suits. Since I'm the niece of Edna Mode, the superhero designer, Zack really wanted me to join so I could give him tips on his costume," I explain. Throughout my explanation I could feel Jesse watch me ramble. I was going to ask him about it when I heard Zack transform into his hero form. The costume consisted of a magician-like suit and similar hat, at least there wasn't a cape.
"Impressive. Do you have other skills?" David asks.
"I can turn a red heart black. Ever seen a jumping jack? Go ahead, check behind your ear," Zack says smirking.
David gasps, pulling a card from behind his ear, "What sorcery is this? I have seen enough. Though you possess great quantities of style, you must learn to channel your magic into a cause. Our cause. And I am afraid this uniform will not suffice. Think of another."
Zack gasps, offended, to which Barajas interrupts saying, "Try a cape."
I walk over to Barajas smacking his head with a glare. I know that he knows how my aunt and I feel about superhero capes.
David goes over to Ken asking, "What can you do?"
"I can, um... I'm still sort of working out the kinks," Ken says, putting his gadgets shrinking himself, "Oh, the wings aren't supposed to buzz like that. I'm working on rocket launchers, but they malfunction. The whole thing is all messed up. I wanted to be big and strong, so people would notice me, but... my growth tech backfired, and now I'm even smaller and more invisible than before. I should just go home."
"You possess far more strength than you know. You simply lack confidence, little Bumblebee," David says as Ken lands on his finger.
"I actually prefer the indestructible, gamma phase, 1000 k—"
I interrupt, "Bumblebee. Let's stick with Bumblebee. It's a cute name anyway."
"Trust me, it's way better," I hear Barajas whisper to Ken, who had a slightly red face. Barajas was most definitely the most excited about this whole situation. He's probably waited for something like to happen for a long time.
David walks over to the blonde guy, or Kari was his name, asking, "And you, we've seen your incredible strength. Is there anything more you have to offer?"
"Not to you. I'm no hero, "Prince." That racket's for chumps," Kari says
"You could be the greatest hero the world of Man has ever known. You simply lack proper motivation!" David says calmly before picking up Barajas and throwing him off the building at full force.
"Have you lost your mind?" Jesse screams running over to the edge of the building. I look over to Kari worried and his face softens for a second before scoffing and flying to catch Barajas. Kari flies back with us with his superhero suit on and Barajas in his hands. Great another cape. What is with these guys wearing capes.
"Okay, fine. I am a superhero, all right. So what?" Kari says scoffing.
Both me and Jesse sigh out of relief while the rest of the group cheered.
-Timeskip to the next day-
I got to the junkyard, we planned to meet the next day, earlier than the guys except for David so I decided to sit on my phone against an old rusted red car. I fixed my outfit before sitting down.

David was setting up female mannequins with clothes still on around the clearing. I was scrolling on some random social media platform when I heard someone walking towards me. It was the guy with David at the front of the pack. They stood next to the car in a line and David paced in front of them. Zack was muttering something about a junkyard when Barajas quickly shushed him.
"Soldiers! Our mission is to save the world of Man," David told the guys with Barajas making comments in between, "In order to do this...we must learn to save...man himself." David declared pointing at the female mannequins.
"David, those are women and why not put me out there? It might help them try better and I'm fine with just standing there " I say as Jesse helped me up off the ground who looked at me surprised. Before the guys or I could say anything else David started running towards the mannequins as a pile of junk was falling towards them. It was a blur as the junk pile crashed to the ground with David in the middle holding all the mannequins.
"Still wanna be put out there dove?" Zack whispers to me. I quickly shake my head no frantically, Zack chuckles at me, as David yells out to the other guy, "And now, it is your turn."
-Timeskip-
"Normal teenager lesson number four. Pop culture," Barajas says, dragging David into a comic book store.
"Culture? Is she kidding?" Zack asks me groaning so I just shrug.
"O-M... No way! It's the super-rare Batman giant super-special with a limited edition pull-out Batman poster. I would kill for this!"
Have you learned nothing? We must protect the innocent, not engage in needless slaughter over material goods," David say taking the comic from Barajas's hands. Barajas puts the comic down sadly as he walks over with Jesse teaching David about common human phrases. I looked back towards the comic Barajas wanted and sighed picking it up. It wasn't that expensive for me so I walked up to the counter and bought it, wrapping it up in a plastic bag carefully. I never fully thanked Barajas for talking to me first so hopefully this would make up for it. I walked out of the store looking for the guys, but they were nowhere to be found. I texted Zack saying I meet them up later as they did some sessions of hero training at the movie theater.
-Timeskip-
I met up with the guys around early afternoon at the movie theater with the comic book for Barajas in hand.. The guys wanted to watch a romance movie so David could learn more about relationships, but let's face it, I'm going to have to teach him how to actually treat a woman. We walked into the movie theater after paying for our tickets. Kari looked like he didn't want to be watching this specific movie and apparently I didn't either because he asked if I wanted to see next to him. I agreed, but not even five minutes into the movie Kari was asleep using my shoulder as a pillow. I didn't mind, but he could have stayed awake for my sake.
"Normal teenager lesson number 86... Romance," Barajas says sighing.
"I never wanted to love her, Alexandra. But she's the most important thing to me now. The most important thing to me, ever. So, why hasn't Caitlyn texted me?" Aiden questions Alexandra.
"She just needs time, Aiden. It's only been two days. If she texts after three days, that's irrevocable love," Alexandra explains.
David leans over whispering, "What is happening?"
"Aiden just realized he can't live without Caitlyn. But Alexandra is telling him that Caitlyn won't text until tomorrow, because that's exactly what Michael didn't do to her when they broke up. And, isn't it all just so sad and beautiful?" Ken explains to David.
"Teenage females are very confusing," David says confused.
"Tell me about it!" Zack, Jesse, Barajas, and Ken all speak at the same time.
"Excuse me," I say, crossing my arms looking at them. They looked back at me, shuffling and shrugging shyly.
"Caitlyn! You will be mine, Caitlyn. Forever," Aiden says towards Caitlyn pulling her close who burst through the door.
"Beware, Caitlyn! Aiden attacks!" David yells pulling out his and ripping up the movie screen.
"No, Diana! He's just going to... Kiss her," Ken says dejectedly as a piece of the screen falls on him.
Kari wakes up beside me yawning, "He is just not getting it, you guys."
"No! I am not giving up on this team. There's got to be some place to loosen up an uptight warrior prince," Barajas says thinking.
Ken perks up saying, "Oh, I know."
