Time seemed to blur as I walked

Time seemed to blur as I walked. The world around me faded into an eerie silence, the only sound being the soft rustle of the wind through the mist. It felt like hours passed, though it could have been mere minutes. The farther I went, the more the ground beneath me changed, shifting from soft, damp soil to something more solid, ancient.

Finally, the mist began to thin, and I found myself standing at the edge of an open clearing. At the center of it stood a massive stone monument, far more elaborate than the others I'd seen in the graveyard. It towered over me, etched with intricate markings that glowed faintly in the dim light.

Aurelia's grave.

I stepped forward, my heart pounding in my chest. The air here was different—still heavy with the weight of something old, but there was no malice, no threat. Just a quiet, overwhelming sadness. The power that had protected me was still with me, but now it felt softer, more reverent, as if Gaia herself was paying respect to the one buried here.

I approached the grave slowly, feeling the energy shift around me as I neared it. My paws trembled slightly as I reached the base of the monument, the markings glowing brighter with each step. There was a presence here, but it was different from Kronos, more peaceful, like a memory lingering in the air.

"Aurelia," I whispered, though I wasn't sure why. The name felt sacred on my tongue, as if speaking it too loudly would disturb the quiet.

The ground beneath the monument seemed to pulse, just as the earth had when Gaia's power had guided me. It was as if Aurelia's presence was still alive, deep beneath the stone. I placed one paw on the ground, and a sudden warmth surged up through me. I felt my body begin to change, the same way when I had changed into this one. The fur disappeared, replaced by smooth skin and in just a few seconds, I was me again.

A voice, soft and ancient, whispered through the air.

"You've come... just as I knew you would."

I froze, my heart skipping a beat. The voice wasn't Gaia's. It was someone else—someone older, more tired, but filled with an unyielding strength. I didn't even have time to celebrate my original body.

"You seek what I left behind."

I swallowed hard, my eyes scanning the monument for any sign of the voice's origin. "Aurelia?" I whispered, unsure if I even wanted an answer.

"Yes... my time has passed, but my legacy endures in you." The voice was soft, almost like the rustling of leaves, but it carried a weight that I couldn't ignore. "You are not the first to seek the power of the gods... but you may be the last."
