"I still stay up late at night trying to hear your voices in the halls"-Voices In The Halls by Neon Trees
You're not sure when you're best friend became a comedian. It had to have been sometime within the last half hour, because just about every word that had left her mouth since you had entered her home was leaving you in stitches.
"Stop laughing. I'm being serious!" Destiny whined at you from her spot on the opposite end of the couch.
You slapped your knee unironically, "And that's why it's so funny!"
"Y/N! What's so funny about wanting to go to a club for my birthday?" A pout formed over her lips.
"The fact that we're not fucking 22 years young. Instead, we're 35 years old with children and jobs and adult responsibilities." You finally stopped your laughter to look at her with an incredulous glare.
You'd hate to be a party pooper but at some point Destiny had to be realistic, and if you had to be the rain pelting down on her parade, then so be it.
"When has that ever stopped me before?" Destiny asked with a defiant smile.
You sighed, "Fine. Who are the kids staying with then?"
"Either my mother or Tobin. My vote is Tobin because she needs to get used to having two kids around anyway. And this way she can be pissed you're grinding on Alex all night while she suffers the consequences of getting you pregnant." Destiny rubbed her hands together like the evil mastermind she strived to be on a daily basis.
"I have a couple of questions."
Destiny rolled her eyes playfully, "Of course you do... No, we won't have a curfew, and there will be a designated driver. It's not like it's a school night."
"Fuck you. My questions were, one, why would Tobin be pissed about me grinding on Alex, and two, why would I be grinding on Alex?"
Destiny flung her hands up in the air in exasperation, "Have you ever once had fun a day in your life!?"
"Yes, asshole." Though, you were having fun remembering any times that didn't have to do with your child at the moment.
"Then, why wouldn't you grind on Alex? You've already done it in your sleep. Now, simply, be awake this time. Get drunk. Let loose. And lose your virginity." Destiny placed a placatingly soft hand on your shin.
"I'm not a virgin, Destiny."
"Could've fooled me."
"I stopped laughing, so you have to stop being mean. I already agreed. I'll get drunk, let loose. And I'll go home with someone who is pointedly not Alex."
"Close enough, I guess. Okay, let's look for outfits." Destiny scooted closer to you with her phone at the ready.
Instead of opening pinterest like you would have, she opened up Instagram, scurrying to the explore page.
Before she could type anything into the search bar, you spotted a picture in the feed of yourself that you hadn't taken.
"What's that post?" You tapped on the post without waiting for a response from Destiny.
It was a series of photo posted by a fan page of Alex's. You never really concerned yourself with the stans, you had your own, Alex had more, and you shared a number of shippers. All in all you didn't really care.
You did care about people posting photos of you and Alex walking through Disneyland like a family without your knowledge of said photos even being taken.
