Chapter Twenty-Two

KREATIVE POV

After the baby shower, I went home to change clothes so that I could visit my mama.

"Hello", I said answering my phone.

"Hey sis, you ready?" Dre asked.

"Um yeah, y'all here?"

"Yeah, We gone ride with you".

"Okay, I'll buzz y'all up",  I said hanging up the phone.

"My brothers here Zy, I'm finna go".

"I want you right now" " he said pulling me close to him, licking his lips.

"I gotta see my mama, then I promise I'll get you when I get back", I said kissing him.

"Alright, mama".

"MAN KREATIVE BRING YO ASS", I heard Kash yell from the living room.

"You'd better stop yelling in here like you're crazy", I said back.

"Man, you're taking all day. Wassup bro", Kash said as he dabbed Zy up.

"Y'all be safe. Call me mama", Zy said walking us out the door.

"Okay bye, I love you".

"Don't say bye".

"My bad, see you later", I said giving him one last kiss.

He hated it when I would tell him bye. He always wants me to tell him to see you later instead.

"I love you too", He said smacking my ass hella hard.

Kash shot him a look.

He threw his hands up "My bad bro", he chuckled.

ZY POV

I locked up Kreative crib and went to check on my mama.

I was pulling into the driveway when I got a call from Malik.

"What bitch ass nigga", I said answering the phone.

"What are you on?", he asked.

"Just pulled up to Ma dukes crib".

"Bet, swing by the crib when you're done".

"Ight nigga", I said hanging up.

I got out of the car and walked into the house.

"Zy" " my little sister ran up to me, hugging me.

"Wassup Zo", I said hugging her back.

"Where Mama?"

"She is in her room fussing at Zyland".

I have 2 little sisters. One of them thinks she's grown and the other one is as sweet as can be. I love them to death. I'd do anything for my sisters.

"MAMA", I called out as I reached her bedroom door.

"Hey Zy", she sighed.

Zyland walked past me and went to her room.

"What she do?" I said sitting on her bed.

"She thinks she's grown, staying out all night with her lil friends".

"I'll holla at her before I leave".

"How is grandma doing?" I asked.

"She is doing well. She finished round 2 of chemotherapy today. Her hospital bill is going up".

"Why?"

"Her insurance stopped paying for her treatments and therapy".

"That ain't no thing Ma, I got it".

"Good cause I got my own bills to catch up on".

"What? You need some money?"

"No Zy I got it".

"Alright mama", I said getting up, going to Zyland's room.

I knocked on her door before opening it.

"You finna yell at me too?" she asked.

"Nah I'm big brother. Ian here to yell at you. Just talk".

"What's goin on Zyland"?

"Man, she's doing all this cause I didn't come home until 1 in the morning last night".

"You saying that like it ain't no big deal".

"It's not".

"It is Zyland. You're 14. You ain't got no business staying out until 1 in the morning".

"I was just with my friends".

"You ain't got no fucking friends that got you out until 1 in the morning on a school night".

"You not grown Zyland".

"I know that", she said with an attitude.

"Then get yo shit together. Stop staying out all fucking night. You know yo curfew bro. Tighten up".

"Alright, Zy".

"Here", I said taking out the stack of cash and handing her a hundred.

"Thank you", she said taking the money.

"Tighten up, I love you", I said leaving her room.

"Ma, I'm gone", I said about to walk out.

I put the stack of money in the bowl on the counter.

KREATIVE POV

"So how's Dee?" Mama asked.

"He's doing alright mama. Don't worry about him. You focus on you so you can get outta here and come home", Dre said.

"How was the baby shower?", she asked.

"It was good. Sky looked good" I said taking my phone out showing pictures.

"She's about to pop, you ready?" she asked Kash.

"Yeah I can't wait for my little boys to get here", he said smiling.

"I'm glad yall doing okay", she said as her eyes began watering.

"Come on mama", Tre said hugging her.

"I know I ain't the world's best mom but when I get outta here. Ima do better, I promise".

"We know Mama. It's okay, you're human too", I said.

"I just wish Dee would give me the time of day".

"He will when he's ready Mama. He's been through more than the rest of us. Just give him time", Kash said.

"Well, we gotta get outta here mama. You know we love you", I said hugging her.

"I love y'all too", she said as she watched us leave.
