I'm back! College is mostly going really well!
(The tour guide talks about the monument. The energy core erupts with light, breaking glass, and the tip of the monument cracks. Spider-Man arrives at the base of the structure. "No, no, no, no. Karen, what's going on up there?" "The Chitauri core has detonated and caused severe structural damage to the elevator.")
"Aw s••t." Says Carol, "This is bad, very, very bad."
(The suit provides a view inside the monument, and it is shown that several people are gathered inside the elevator. "Oh, no." "My friends are up there!" Michelle calls out. "What? Uh...don't worry, ma'am. Everything's going to be okay. Excuse me, excuse me. Oh, my god, that's tall.")
"Do not suddenly start being afraid of heights." Sam says.
"I just hadn't been up that high before." Peter says. He knew that later he'd ended up going even higher when he hitched a ride on that space ship.
(Spider-Man runs through the crowd, leaps onto the side of the building, and crawls up. On the elevator, Ned drops his backpack. The room is filled with smoke. "Oh, my god. Look at the ceiling." A glowing red crack cuts across the ceiling. "Just stay calm, everyone." Says Liz.)
"Okay I'm glad someone is staying calm, but how on Earth is she staying calm?!" Jen asks loudly.
("Oh, we are all going to die here." Spider-Man is climbing the monument and has gotten so high that he's merely a dot to the people below. "Estimating 10 minutes before catastrophic failure." Karen says. Inside the elevator the tour guide is trying to calm down the students. "I know that was scary, but safety systems are working." "The safety systems are completely failing." Karen tells the now panting Spider-Man.)
Everybody groans.
("We're very safe in here." "The occupants are in imminent mortal danger.")
Everyone groans even louder, if possible. "Why would she say it like that." Stephen says through clenched teeth.
("I'm going as fast as I can!" Spider-Man says and pulls himself up with double strands of web. Park rangers open the doors to the elevator shaft. The tour guide opens a ceiling hatch. A girl, Cindy, is pulled out of the elevator. "Let's go. Give me your hand." Says the ranger. "125 seconds until catastrophic failure." Says Karen.)
"What happened to 10 minutes?" Pepper asks worriedly.
("What? Why? "Unexpected motion has caused the deterioration to escalate." The suit shows the elevator. The park ranger rescuing the students is making the elevator move.)
"F••K!" Several people yell out.
("How do I get in there?" "Activating reconnaissance drone." The suit's emblem detaches, and a spider shaped robot flies up and over the monument.)
"Awesome!" Kamala, Kate, and Scott say loudly.
("Whoa, has that been there the whole time? That's awesome." "Locating optimal entry point." Karen says and the drone finds a window, "Proceed to southwest window." "I'm on my way." Spider-Man moves around the structure, and continues climbing. He reaches the top. Pausing he turns onto his back and clings to the cracked stone. Cautiously, he peers over the edge to the ground far below. "Ah!")
