(Toomes is driving. Liz looks at herself through her phone camera while Peter looks out the window.)
"I know this is a nerve racking situation but dude," Kate says, "you need to pay attention to your date."
"Not to sound like an a•• but that's not exactly top priority right now." Clint says.
"But he needs to act normal. Paying attention to her would be normal." Kate reasons. Clint opens his mouth to respond but then closes it after not being able to come up with a response.
("What are you gonna do, Pete?" "What?" "When you graduate, what do you think you're gonna do?" "Oh, um, I don't know." "Don't grill him dad." "Just saying, you know. All you guys who go to that school, you pretty much have your life planned out, right?")
"I don't know the kids from your school but I don't think that's true." Hope says, "Midtown is a prestigious and good science school which gives teens lots of opportunities. That still doesn't mean that everyone knows exactly what their future looks like or what they want to do."
"That's true." Bruce says, "There are a lot of scientific fields out there, people might not be sure which one they want to go into."
("Yeah, no," Peter says, "I'm just a sophomore.")
"You should enjoy high school." Scott says.
"It's never too early to start thinking about your future though." Pepper says.
("Peter has an internship with Tony Stark." Liz adds, "So I think he doesn't have to worry.")
"Wow she really thinks of you highly." Stephen says, "We know how smart you are but she doesn't know how exactly the internship is going. It's one thing to get it, it's another to succeed at it."
("Really?" Toomes asks. "Mm-hmm." "Stark?" "So cool.")
"She clearly doesn't know how much her dad hates Tony." Steve says with a wince.
("So what do you do?" Toomes asks Peter, who responds with, "Actually, I don't intern for him anymore." Liz turns to Peter, frowning.)
"Uh, I can't tell what that look means she's thinking." America says while staring at the screen apprehensively.
("Seriously." Liz asks. "Yeah, it got, um...boring.")
Sam began to slow clap, "Great reason."
"I was under a lot of stress at the time!" Peter says in defense.
("It was boring? You got to hang out with Spider-Man.")
Everyone groans in dismay.
("Really? Spider-Man? Wow." Toomes says, "What's he like?" "Yeah, he's nice. Nice man. Solid dude." "Hmm.")
"New conversation, new conversation." Kamala pleads.
(Liz shows Peter her phone. "Look, so cute." "Aww..." The two say. Toomes keeps stealing glances at Peter. "I've seen you around, right? I mean...somewhere. We've, uh, have we ever? Because even the voice...")
Tony puts his head in his hand. "Why did I use the voice altering tech for that stupid interrogation mode instead of making one for you to use all the time."
"We are all wondering what you were thinking with that." Rhodey says with humor being heard in his voice. Tony glares half heartedly at his best friend.
"No I think I understand." Peter says in mock seriousness, "Maybe I should just make my voice deep and gravely so no one will recognize it and to be intimidating."
