Note: Sorry for my absence. Been busy with the start of a new school year and honestly haven't felt motivated. But I'm ready to get back to writing!
("Does she know?" Toomes asks. "Know what?" "So she doesn't. Close to the vest. I admire that. I got a few secrets of my own.")
"You don't say." Kate says sarcastically and was shushed by several people. 'Rude.' she mouths.
("Of all the reasons I didn't want my daughter to date..." Toomes cracks a grin and shrugs, "Peter, nothing is more important than family. You saved my daughter's life. I could never forget something like that.")
"Then why are you pointing a gun at him!?" Kamala says in a panicked voice while America nervously munches on popcorn next to her.
("So I'm gonna give you one chance. Are you ready? You walk through those doors, you forget any of this happened. And don't you ever, ever interfere with my business again.")
"He clearly knows nothing about Spider-Man." Stephan says.
"Nope." Peter says, "He only encouraged me."
Tony groans and Pepper shakes her head with a frown. Matt just chuckles.
("Because if you do, I'll kill you and everybody you love. I'll kill you dead. That's what I'll do to protect my family. Do you understand?")
"Okay, that actually did scare me." Peter says in amends to his other statement.
"People can do ugly things in order to protect their families," Clint says, knowing the man's mindset, "but is he really willing to kill innocent people, another family like his."
"This isn't protecting his family." Natasha says, "That's what he's telling himself, but he's the only one who goes down in the fallout if he gets caught."
(Peter nods, unable to meet Toomes' eyes. "Hey. I just saved your life. Now, what do you say?")
"He cannot be serious." Bucky states angrily. Not shouting but in a threatening tone masked as calmness.
"Does it even count as saving his life if he's the one who's threatening him?!" Scott asked panicked, "That wasn't rhetorical, I'm genuinely wondering!" No one had an answer.
(Peter raises his head and looks straight at the older man, "Thank you." "You're welcome. Now, you go in there and show my daughter a good time, okay? Just not to good.")
Jen gives the screen a puzzled look. "Does he honestly think Peter will be thinking about sex after being threatened."
"Well not Peter, but I know some people who-" Tony is cut off by Pepper's hand over his mouth.
"Tony! No one wants to hear about that and there are children in the room." The fierce woman says to her husband.
"I'd argue the we're teenagers, but neither of us wants to hear that." America says and shivers.
(Peter gets out of the car with a tense expression on his face. The villain drives off and Peter enters the school. He walks down the hallway, all sounds muffled as if underwater.)
Everyone felt bad for the clearly freaked out and overwhelmed boy. This was supposed to be a good night but he was in a dangerous situation with a heavy choice weighing on his shoulders.
(He stops and watches his friends through the glass doors. The party is in full swing.)
Matt's mouth forms a smile. "I wish I could have taken you to a dance, I've got some pretty good moves despite what Foggy says."
