A/N - I'm gonna say this counts... My Flufftober My Rules.

"Winter you cannot be serious."

"Dead serious."

"But it's wrong!"

Winter and Autumn were in the back of a cab heading home from their favorite date night spot. They sat much closer together than they usually would be, no matter how comfortable they were together Autumn would never show too much affection when someone else was also in the car. But tonight they'd had a little more to drink than usual so they were both feeling much more loosened up, and Winter was the first to tell you he got clingy when he was drunk. So the second they were settled in the cab he pulled her close and Autumn didn't fight it. Instead she let him keep his arm around her waist while they continued the "argument" they'd been having since that morning.

"Autumn, I've been doing it this way for 35 years, I'm not going to change it now."

"Not even for me?"

As their cab came to a stop in front of their house Winter jumped out and ran to the other side to open the door for his girlfriend. He offered his hand to help her out and then snaked his hand around her waist as they walked up the drive. Once they reached the door, he brought his other hand to her waist, running his fingers over her gently as he looked at her, his face even more serious than before.

"My love, you know that I would do anything for you."

He pulled her into a deep kiss. His fingers tangled in her hair as they stood on the front step, nothing but love between them despite their passionate debate. Once he pulled away, his hands resting on her cheeks, he looked her straight in the eyes with a devilish grin.

"Just not this."

He gave her another quick peck before walking back into the house. She let out a shocked chuckle at his response, at his bluntness. This wasn't a real issue; if they hadn't been drinking the issue probably wouldn't have come up again at all. But the two of them loved a good conversation and their favorites were always their debates. They just loved talking to each other; watching the other's eyes light up as they discussed their passions or argued a point they cared so deeply about. Even if that point was just the order of jam and cream on a scone they would make the conversation last for hours, days even, just to keep hearing the other talk.

"Well then, my sweet. I'm just going to have to show you how wrong you are."

She called after him, stopping him as he was already halfway up the staircase. Winter turned around slowly, noticing the sly smile on her face as he did. He walked slowly back down to her.

"And how will you do that my love?"

It was quite late at night and Winter knew all the shops were closed. He assumed they didn't have the supplies to settle this now. He looked at her with a cocky grin, knowing that she wasn't going to have an answer. It was impossible. She looked back with just as much assurance as she walked past him into the kitchen.

"We're making scones. Now."

Winter was incredibly taken aback. In the whole time they'd been together he hadn't seen Autumn use her kitchen once. Whenever they ate dinner at home he made it, otherwise they went out or got a takeaway. He was actually shocked by the state of her fridge the first time he stayed over and it hadn't changed all that much since he came into the picture. It was always nearly empty aside from her wine and whatever ingredients Winter had picked up for dinner that night. What he hadn't seen were her cabinets.

The one thing Autumn always had in the house was the ingredients to bake. She'd been baking ever since she was little; it was one of the few things she remembers learning from her mum. After she left and Reece took up most of the cooking Autumn would always make desserts so she could feel like she was helping too. Aside from that, the kitchen was really the one place they felt safe from Roger. He wouldn't be caught dead in there; that was for the women and the staff.
