The idea, that Targaryens are closer to Gods than men is nothing but a farce. The song of Ice and Fire was a dragon's dream, a dream that was dreamt by Aegon the Conqueror. Aegon Targaryen had a purpose in spreading Fire and Blood for the future of the realm.
The Targaryen who sits on the Iron Throne is a matter of the highest importance in Westeros and more importantly, to ensure the continual permanence of House Targaryen for generations to come. Familiar disputes threaten the very potential of House Targaryen's survival in the Seven Kingdoms.
While King Viserys I Targaryen and Queen Aemma Targaryen had a child, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, they did not stop at any odds to birth a male heir. Their efforts in birthing a son had failed on several occasions but remained steadfast despite the imminent danger for Aemma to carry a child. Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen was the firstborn child of the King and Queen and still was not considered the heir simply because she was a woman.
Those in King Viserys I Targaryen's council vied to control the future and instill a male heir, overlooking Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, the Realm's Delight, or Prince Daemon Targaryen, the Rogue Prince, as potential successors to the Iron Throne.
Should the occasion arise whereby King Viserys Targaryen and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen obtain the ability to see the future in a dream, would they come to understand the disputes that occurred as a consequence of their actions?
