Chapter Six - The Battle Begins

                                                    Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 - 7:25 am

Evelyn's POV
BOOM. I instantly woke up to a loud noise, and another after that. Continuous loud noises could be heard outside the castle.

They almost sounded like... BOOM. Gun shots.

I didn't think twice as I got out of bed and rushed down the stairs. I opened the front door, and my eyes widened at the scene in front of me.

Bullets fired back and forth from the left and right side. Everybody either had a gun or their magic to fight the mysterious people.

I looked to my left, to where everyone was shooting at. My eyes caught a girl with black, very wavy hair that was half dyed yellow and was down to her shoulders. She wore a tight, tucked in black top that went up to her neck. Connected to that top were sleeves, and there were cuts at the shoulders.

She wore tight black pants and a thick black belt. She had a holster in her right pocket and wore black boots with yellow laces.

She had dark brown eyes and had shimmery yellow eyeshadow with mascara and eyeliner. She also had fainted dark red lip gloss.

Next to her was a girl with very dark magenta hair, some parts were highlighted a dark pink. It was half-up-half-down with strands in front. She wore a cold shoulder tank top and had separate black sleeves below that. She wore black cargo pants with a black belt and had black thick heels.

Her eyes were dark brown with shimmery light pink eyeshadow, plus dark pink and black eyeliner with mascara. She also had fainted dark pink lip gloss.

I couldn't think in the moment, but the way they looked was so familiar to me, even though I had never met these girls in my life.

I looked to my right, and saw Evan, Jade, and Kenzie hiding together between the castle and the entrance steps.

I ran down to them and crouched.

"What's going on?!" I yelled. It was hard to even hear my voice over the gun shots and explosions.

Damn, magic was powerful. Since Jayden and Aria didn't have guns yet, they had to use their magic to fight.

Their magic was causing mini explosions but seemed to miss the yellow and magenta haired girls. The others who were using guns used their magic from time to time. I also noticed they all had their wings out and were using them as some type of shields.

"We have no idea; we woke up to loud noises and came out here. Lynn had us hide," Evan yelled back to me.

I took a glance at the terrifying scene behind me and took a deep breath.

"I'm going in there, don't follow me," I yelled again.

"Are you crazy?!" Kenzie yelled to me.

For the first time ever, I saw Kenzie side hugging Jade, who was breathing heavily and holding her mouth closed with her hands. She had tears in her eyes but didn't let them fall.

I then remembered something. Kenzie had said that she was a victim of a school shooting.

"Is she going to be okay?" I yelled to Kenzie.

She took a quick glance at Jade before looking to me again, "I don't know."

I stared at Lynn for a quick moment, who looked tired and had scratches on her legs and face, until I turned back to look at Jade.

I crawled over to her and positioned myself to be on my knees in front of her.

"Jade, look at me," I yelled to her.
