Louis was walking on rainbows.
Yes, Louis just said a fucking cliche sentence. But it doesn't matter because he didn't realize how true it was.
Harry was the best thing ever to happen to him and he was so grateful that he came into his life.
He was going to pull his phone out of his pocket and text Harry, since that's what he prefers to do rather than listening to his English instructor rambling on about his cats at home, but he realized he had left it at home.
Oh well. He actually has to pretend that whatever his teacher says is interesting now.
Or he could just think about other things. Yeah, that's the better option.
He settled on his favorite thinking topic. Harry. Now, he's definitely not going to share with the class what he's thinking about him because not all of it is PG-13. But he can share that he's thinking that Harry's probably scribbling down in his notepad right now trying to write down every word that the teacher says. He can also share that he's fairly sure that Harry is worried about the fact that Louis hasn't texted him yet, but he's too focused on his schoolwork to give it much thought yet. Not that he would share any of this. These are his private thoughts, about his private boyfriend, dealing with the private things that only Louis knows about him.
Ok so maybe other people who know Harry also know this stuff, but that's not the point!
He can't just say stuff that he knows about Harry that other people for sure don't because then he'd be delving into the non PG-13 content.
Like, he can't say that he knows the exact spot to kiss on Harry's neck to make him go weak.
And he can't say that he knows the exact way to kiss him to go weak in his knees.
Ok, he's gonna stop there.
What he can say is that he knows the different kind of smiles that Harry gives. The supportive smile, the encouraging smile, the excited smile, the baby smile, the happy smile, the teary smile, the sad smile, the fake smile, and so much more. Harry has so many different kind of smiles because he's such a smiley person, and he knows exactly how to identify each one.
Suddenly the bell rang. Ugh, damn that stupid bell for interrupting his thoughts of Harry.
Wait actually never mind because it's time for lunch and he can actually see Harry in person.
He actually loves that stupid bell."Hey love," Louis whispered as he walked up to Harry from behind.
Harry smiled his giddy smile that Louis always likes to call Harry's smile that's just for Louis, because he's never actually seen Harry smile like that for anyone else. It warms his heart that he has his own personal smile.
"Hi," Harry said softly, "Why haven't you texted? I got worried"
"Oh sorry for worrying you, I left my phone at home, no biggie," Louis said.
Harry sighed in relief, "Oh good. I thought I had done something wrong or something that made you not-"
Louis interrupted him, "I'm going to stop you right there, love. Nothing could ever make me dislike you, not even if you did the most horrible thing on this planet. Not even if you broke my heart. Because guess what? This heart was never mine, it was always yours. Yours to do whatever you wish with it, whether it's treasure it or break it, I lost it the day I met you. So don't ever worry about losing me ever again, because I'm not going anywhere unless you want me to. Okay?"
Harry grinned a bigger version of his Louis smile, "Ok!"
They sat down and ate lunch and had a wonderful time together.
~ time skip ~
Louis got home and was planning on doing some homework because his parents were going to be another hour in picking up his sisters, so this was the little quiet time he had.
Those plans, however, came to a halt when he saw his parents awaiting him in the living room.
"Come sit down, Louis," his mother said. Something about her voice made Louis wary about what was awaiting him.
"Um sorry Mum but I'm a little restless right now, I've been sitting down the whole day, do you mind if I stand up? I'll still listen to what you guys have to say and everything, I'd just like to stretch my legs," Louis rambled nervously.
He knew he said the wrong thing when his mother gave him that look, "Louis. I am not going to repeat myself. Follow my instructions. Now."
Louis decided that he seemed to already be in some sort of trouble so he didn't want to argue. He crossed the room and sat in the sofa that was farthest away from his parents but still close enough to seem like he was unsuspecting.
"So, Louis, care to explain?" His mum asked.
He looked at what she was holding out only for his expression to shift to horror. In front of him was his phone, and on it was all his texts to Harry. He was so, ultimately, fucked. And not in the good way.
"Uh..." Louis stuttered, trying to find words to put together to make an excuse.
"Louis. You are grounded. Your phone and car will be taken away from you. You will stay away from Harry. If I have to make myself clear on this again, you will not like the result," his father threatened.
"Got it," Louis said, holding back tears.
His father scoffed at him, "Now go up to your room."
Louis didn't need to be told twice. He ran up to his room and broke down in sobs. He didn't even know why, he's always known that something like this was bound to happen. After all, he couldn't keep Harry a secret from his parents forever.
Lottie came in and saw him crying, "Oh, Lou, I'm so sorry. I heard what happened..."
Louis just shook his head and turned away. He felt bad because lately his sister has really been stepping up in maturity just to help him navigate being homosexual with homophobic parents. His sister was only in 5th grade, she neither deserves nor needs this burden on her. He cleared up his face and put a fake smile, knowing it wouldn't be too convincing but he tried anyways.
"No, Lots, it's ok. I can't expect anything different from them," Louis said softly.
"Here," Lottie said, holding out her phone, "At least text Harry that you won't be texting him tonight because your phone got taken. That way he doesn't worry. And then you can spend some much needed time with us girls! You've been abandoning us to text Harry ever since you became a thing! It's time for us to steal your attention back!"
Louis laughed, "Sorry Lots."
"It's ok," Lottie smiled, "Now text your love. And don't say you can't text him because his number isn't on my phone, I know for a fact that you have his number memorized."
Louis just chuckled and did as Lottie asked. Harry was apologetic but then let him go spend some time with his sisters. He didn't realize how much he'd been neglecting them, and how much he'd missed them, until he had spent some much needed time with them today.
