No one's pov

Sarah had woken up early, her thoughts still troubled from the previous day. She had decided to get breakfast ready before Aarav got up, hoping to avoid any early morning interactions.

As she was trying to reach a bag of flour from the upper cabinet, she lost her balance and started to fall. But before she could hurt herself, she felt strong hands wrap around her waist, steadying her.

She froze for a moment, her heart racing at the sudden unexpected contact. She slowly turned around to see who had saved her from a potentially embarrassing fall, and her heart skipped a beat when she saw it was her husband, Aarav.

Aarav held Sarah steadily by the waist, his eyes locked onto hers. His voice was calm as he spoke. "Careful there," he said, his grip on her firm but not painful. "

"Huh.. No no I am fine" Sarah said while Staring at him

Aarav's grip loosened slightly, but he kept his hand lightly on her waist, as if to ensure she wouldn't lose her balance again. "You should be more careful," he admonished her, his voice still steady. "No need to put yourself in danger trying to reach the top shelf."

'Thank you" Sarah said feeling embarrassed

"Uh, you're welcome," he muttered, his tone gruff. "Just don't go falling over again. I'm not looking to catch you every time you need something from the top shelf."

With that, he made to leave the kitchen, but Sarah's voice stopped him once more. "Wait," she said, her voice still tinged with nervousness. "Please, have some breakfast. I made enough for both of us."

Aarav paused again, his mind conflicted. He had planned to just grab a quick cup of coffee and go about his day, but the earnestness in Sarah's voice made him hesitate.

. "Fine," he said, his tone not exactly inviting. "I suppose I can have some breakfast."

Aarav looked up from his plate of food, his eyes fixed on Sarah. He noticed how her hands trembled slightly as she picked up her fork, and the way she chewed her lower lip nervously. He could see the anxiety in her every movement, and he found it slightly irritating.

With a stern tone, he asked her, "Are you always this nervous in front of people?"

Sarah froze momentarily, . "I-I guess so," she admitted softly, her voice betraying the anxiety she was trying to keep hidden. "I've never been the most confident person."

Aarav continued to eat his breakfast, his eyes now fixed on Sarah. He decided to test her a bit, to see how she would react. He spoke again, his tone slightly mocking. "You know, you should work on your confidence. It's not very attractive to be so nervous all the time. People might think you're weak."

she took a deep breath and spoke quietly, her voice cracking slightly, "I'm not weak. I just... take a little time to warm up to people."

Aarav noticed the slight tremor in her ."Really? Because right now, you seem pretty nervous just sitting here with me. Can you even hold a conversation without shaking in your boots?"

Sarah gulped hard and didn't say anything

As Aarav finished his food, he looked at Sarah and spoke in a blunt tone.
"No need to cook food for me," he said. "We're not a couple, we're strangers. I can take care of myself."
With that, he got up and left the house, leaving Sarah alone in the kitchen, feeling small and hurt by his straightforward, unkind words.

Aarav's pov

Aarav found himself unable to concentrate on his work. His thoughts kept returning to Sarah, her nervous demeanor and trembling hands. He couldn't shake off the unease that had settled in his stomach since their breakfast interaction.

"Is she always this nervous?" he muttered to himself, his brow furrowing. "Is she scared of me or something?" He couldn't understand why he was so fixated on her, but he couldn't stop his thoughts from swirling.

As Aarav sat lost in his thoughts, his friend Sam walked into his office, a wide grin on his face.
"Hey, buddy," Sam said, chuckling. "You look a bit distracted today. Something on your mind?"

Aarav glanced up at Sam, trying to shake off his troubled thoughts. "Just work stuff," he muttered, waving a hand dismissively. "Nothing for you to worry about."

Sam chuckled, seeing through Aarav's attempt to brush him off. "Oh, still being bossy and rude, huh?" he said, grinning widely. "You know you can't hide this from me. I can tell something's bothering you. Out with it."

Sam's grin widened as he took in Aarav's surprise.
"Are you thinking about your wife?" he teased, noticing the flicker of shock on Aarav's face.
Aarav quickly tried to compose himself and denied the accusation.
"No," he said firmly, his voice betraying a hint of irritation. "Of course not. Why would I be thinking about her?"

Sam chuckled, enjoying the fact that he had hit a nerve.
"You must be thinking about her, considering how defensive you are," he teased again, his grin widening.
Aarav's irritation grew, and he shot a sharp glance at his friend.
"Drop it, Sam," he said through gritted teeth. "I'm not thinking about her, and I don't want to talk about it."

Sam said " oh okok no need to be grumpy.
I just came by to give u the files about our meeting with shareholders"

Aarav muttered" ya ya i see"
"Now u may leave"

Sam chuckled "such a cold ass .. how did we ever become friends u are such a pain in ass"
Sam said and went out leaving Aarav alone

Aarav rolled his eyes

As Sam left the room, Aarav sat at his desk, trying to focus on his work. But no matter how hard he tried, his mind kept wandering back to Sarah. He couldn't understand why he was so fixated on her and why he couldn't shake off her nervous demeanor.
"What is wrong with me?" he muttered to himself, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "Why can't I get her out of my head?"
