It's 2 am in the morning, Aarav can't sleep

His mind is returning to the incident that happened this morning where he found Sarah's cheeks being red

Aarav muttered himself " why isn't she telling me the truth what happened to her"

Aarav lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to shake off the image of that bruise on Sarah's face.

Aarav picked up his phone and scrolled through his contacts and dialed Sam's number

Sam groggily answered the phone, his voice tinged with irritation.
"Dude, do you know what time it is?"

"I know, I know," Aarav said quickly, his voice low. "I'm sorry to wake you up, but I need to talk to you. It's important."

Sam listened intently as Aarav spoke, his voice laced with concern.
"So you're saying Sarah has a bruise on her face, and she won't tell you how she got it?"
Aarav nodded.
"Exactly. She's avoiding my questions, and it's driving me crazy. I need to know who hurt her."

"Okay, got it," Sam replied, his voice becoming more serious. "I'll do some digging and see what I can find out about Sarah. Don't worry, dude. I'll get some answers for you."

Sam chuckled, a knowing smile playing on his lips.
"You're really worried about her, huh?"
"Shut up," he muttered, a hint of defensiveness in his voice. "It's not like that."

But Sam knew better. He had seen the way Aarav looked at Sarah, the way his eyes lingered on her when she was around.
"Yeah, yeah," Sam teased, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Keep telling yourself that, dude."

Aarav huffed, annoyed by Sam's relentless teasing.
"Just...find out what you can, okay?" he said, trying to ignore Sam's smirk. "And don't say anything to anyone about this."

With that Aarav ended the call, still feeling restless and uneasy. He hoped that Sam would be able to find out something about Sarah's past.
With a sigh, he crawled back into bed, his mind still racing with thoughts of Sarah's bruise and the mystery surrounding it.

Sleep finally claimed Aarav, but it was restless and troubled. His dreams were filled with images of Sarah, her bruised face haunting him even in sleep.

No one's pov

Sarah woke up early in the morning, her sleep interrupted by the sunlight streaming through the curtains.

She sat up in bed, gently touching her fingers to the bruise. It was still tender and sore, and she couldn't help but wince at the contact.

An hour later, Sarah emerged from the bedroom, dressed and ready for the day

Sarah made her way to the kitchen, where Aarav was already sitting at the breakfast table, a cup of coffee in front of him.

Sarah said "u don't have office today"

Aarav looked up as Sarah entered the room, his eyes flickering to the bruise on her face.
"I don't?" he replied, taking a sip of his coffee. "Why?"

Aarav slowly stood up from his chair and walked over to where Sarah was standing. He could see the defensiveness in her stance, the way her body tensed in anticipation.
He stopped just a few inches away from her, their bodies almost touching.

"Sarah," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "That bruise... It's not from bumping into a wall, is it?"

Sarah froze, her heart skipping a beat.

Aarav's fingers lightly grazed the bruised skin on Sarah's cheek. It was slightly swollen and discolored, a stark contrast to the rest of her face.
Sarah flinched at his touch, her breath catching in her throat. She knew that she couldn't deny it anymore.

Aarav's voice was low and firm as he spoke.
"Who did this to you, Sarah?"
"Why won't you tell me?" he asked, his voice tinged with annoyance. "Why won't you let me in?"

Sarah spoke
"Why do you care?" she said, crossing her arms over her chest. about my bruise? It's none of your business."

Aarav staring into her eyes spoke" You are my wife"

"I know," Sarah replied, her voice tinged with resignation. "I know I'm your wife, but that doesn't mean you have the right to pry into my life. I don't have to tell you everything about myself."

"Ok don't say be stubborn... I know different ways to know the truth" Aarav spoke with a little raise in his voice

And with that he left

Aarav's pov

I am now sitting at my office thinking about Sarah "why she isn't telling me I am her husband she needs to tell me everything "

I heard a sudden knock .. Sam came with a serious face

What happened sam did u found out anything

Sam didn't reply anything he just handed me a file containing details about Sarah's past

While reading i am shocked how her uncle and aunt abused her after her parents died how are sister always bullied her

I get to know that Sarah wants to be a doctor and because of this force marriage she can't

Sam spoke breaking the silence " that day Sarah had went to the house to get her books and her parents photo frame .. but the photo frame was being broken by her aunt and her aunt had only slapped her causing that bruise in her face"
Sam went on" her family only get her married to u as u can help there business financially"

I was fuming with anger  how can her own family be so cruel to her. I feel guilty and sad
I will make sure they will suffer

"Thanks Sam for the information"

"Anytime" sam observed me
"I guess u are falling in love Aarav
I have never saw u like this before
U are so tensed that u had to call me at 2am
Just to know about her"

"What love? And me" I replied

"Yes u are in love already ur eyes are telling and u know better than anyone else .. u are just afraid to admit it" Sam spoke

I was unable to say anything I was confused my mind was hurting

"Think about it Aarav".. Sam spoke as he went his way out of my cabin

Aarav's mind was swimming with new information, his thoughts spinning in a whirlwind of confusion. He had always thought that his marriage to Sarah was one of convenience, that their relationship was built on practicality rather than love.
But now, hearing about her troubled past, her dreams being squashed by her own family and what Sam spoke , he wonders if there's more to their marriage than he had originally thought.

"I am in love with her"?
