"Ok. Are you ready?" Pierce asked. He no longer wore his mascot costume but was now in a blue flannel with the white shirt and jeans. We stood by the bleachers while the others were busy congratulating the team."As ready as I'll ever be, blow my mind buddy." I seriously hoped he'd do well, for some reason I liked being in his company. He then nodded and took a deep breath and closed his eyes. When he opened them they were no longer cheerful and warm but rather his brown eyes looked cold and blank.
"What?" he asked me giving me a dead look.
"Huh?" I was trapped in a daze. It didn't seem like Pierce at all.
"Why are you staring at me? You got a problem?" he shoved his hands into his pockets.
"No.....I.....um.." I stammered wondering if he just switched places with a clone or body double or something in the time I used to blink my eyes.
He stepped closer to me and smirked. "Are you flustered curls?"
"What are you talking about? You're out of your mind." I raved at him.
"I'm not out of my mind." he gritted his teeth. "Watch your mouth." he snarled.
"Bro you're literally bipolar either that or you deserve an Oscar." I said truthfully.
"I guess I deserve an Oscar then." he grinned as his face reverted back to his old self.
"No way! that's so cool you have to become an actor I'll be your biggest fan." I fantasised my eyes filled with excitement.
"Thanks. That means a lot curls." he said and blushed. I frowned. Curls was a very delicate name for me. The only two people who called me that name was my mum and... him. It's crazy how the best and worst two people in my life called me that. Pierce mirrored my expression and gave me a worried look.
"I'm sorry did I do something wrong?" I sighed. I have to get over this.
"No it's fine it's just the name you called me was....""Shit I'm so sorry I just thought curls suited you and-"
"No I'm fine it's in the past you can call me that no biggie." I smiled hoping it didn't look forced.
"Okay sure." He gave me a wary look. Guess he didn't buy it. He's the actor after all.
"Roxy!" I heard Lori call me from a distance and I internally did a happy dance in my head. Phew, this conversation was getting awkward.
"Lori called me. Sorry I have to go." I speed walked out of there.
Inhale through your nose, exhale from your mouth. Inhale through your nose, exhale from your mouth. I repeated the mantra in my head. Funny how my mum calls me that every day and when someone else does it it brings up bad memories.
"Hey girl I've been looking all over for you. Where have you been?" I stared blankly at her before snapping out of my trance.
"I was.... I was at the bleachers." I muttered.
"Are you okay?" she looked at me worriedly. I didn't get the chance to answer her before Aiden and Asher came to us.
"Who's ready to party?!!" Asher hollered.
"Yes!! I'll go get Emily. You ready sis?" Aiden asked.
"No I think I'mma sit this one out. You guys go have fun." I gave him a small smile.
He creased his brows and asked. "Hey, are you okay? I can stay if you want to." I laughed.
"Since when were you all mushy? I'm fine bro not just in the mood go make out with your girlfriend or something."
"Whatever fine we'll go just call me if you need anything." He gave me a worried look.
"Okay dad slash legal guardian." I rolled my eyes. "I don't even know why you're telling me all this you're the one going for a party." he huffed.
"Bye Roxy." he said and they all began to leave. "I'll talk to you later." Lori said giving me the eyes.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do and all that crap." I hollered after them.
"You basically do nothing so we're not listening to you." Aiden hollered back.
"No offense." Asher added.
I huffed. "Offense very much taken". I heard a laugh so I knew that they heard me. I then turned around to come face-to-face with Cole.
"Hey Jay." I called his middle name.
"How do you know my middle name?" he asked confused.
"I stalked you on social media duh. You don't have much just your priced possession of a bike."
He gave me a confused look before saying "I'm literally thinking of any way it doesn't give off creepy stalker vibe." he paused. "There is none." he deadpanned.
I chuckled "Okay boomer. So what are you doing here?" I folded my arms.
"Yeah about that, you want to come over to my place?" he looked everywhere except my gaze. I on the other hand was staring at him intently.
"Why?" I said slowly trying to look like those annoying detectives you see on TV.
"There's a braid I saw my phone and I wanted to try it on your hair." He fiddled with his fingers.
"Aww, is the bad boy fidgeting?"I cooed at him and he looked at me coldly.
"Why did I agree to this again?" He muttered.
"One; my amazing hair and two; my amazing self. Now let's go Jay." I said and marched past him while he followed me behind.
He then stopped by his motorcycle and smirked."You ready to get on?"
I turned to him."We're riding on that?" I pointed to the motorcycle.
"You want to chicken out and be like 'no way I'm riding on that death trap'" he said in an awfully shrill voice.
I gave him a look before saying excitedly "Heck no. I've always wanted to ride on a motorcycle before, it always seemed so cool and this will definitely up my ranking in badassery." I smirked and grabbed a helmet.
"Come on let's go." I impatiently pouted. He looked at me for a second and blinked before smiling and I think my heart dropped. His smile could shatter diamonds. I would kill for a smile like that.
"Okay let's go." He hopped on his motorcycle and we left.
