क्यूँ तू बाँधे मन के मन से धागे?
बस चले ना क्यूँ मेरा तेरे आगे?

"You failed."

The screen flashes those two humiliating words as I lose for the fifth time in a row. And in my own game, no less-a game I developed. How is it even possible to fail when I literally know all the cheat codes and shortcuts?

I groan, pushing back from the screen.

What the hell is wrong with me? I can't focus on the simple task of beating a level in my own game, but I can't stop thinking about someone who's not even here.

And, as if on cue, to bring me out of my thoughts a notification pops up on my screen. It's that player again-'SplendourKing05.'

Since evening, this random person has been spamming me with requests to play a game together.

Like, seriously? This guy's not even in the top 100. And don't even get me started on that ridiculous username. 'Splendour King?' What is this, a medieval role-playing game?.

Rolling my eyes, I slam the laptop shut and lean back on the couch, letting my head rest against the cushions. I close my eyes for just a moment, hoping for some peace. Just one minute of quiet without my brain spiralling off into God-knows-where.

But, of course, the universe has other plans. The second my eyes close, she creeps back into my mind. Her face, the way she looked at me when I apologized. That guarded expression, like she wasn't sure whether to believe me or to keep her walls up.

Then there's the image of her waking up beside me in the car, rubbing her eyes with that small, sleepy smile. God, I'm such a mess.
