~Drunken Shenanigans~
O, Jaana hai ikk baar teri rooh ke paar,
Main to reh ke kinaare pe thakkiaa,
O, Tera chadhiaa khumaar, tere bin, mere yaar
Is jagg main nahi kuch rakkhiaaAs Ishani's words sink in, I feel a surge of irritation mixed with confusion.
A date? With a guy?
Questions start running through my mind like a stampede—who was this guy? Why is she here now with Zeeshan instead of her date? And, most importantly, why on earth do I even care?
Disha Bhabhi’s voice cuts into my mental spiral. “You were on a date?” She raises an eyebrow, surprised. “With who?”
“Ankit, or I think Aniket, I don't remember and I don’t even want to talk about him,” Ishani grumbles, sounding more than a little exasperated.
Bhabhi’s expression softens, her earlier irritation melting into genuine concern. “And what led you to… this?” she asks gently, gesturing to Ishani’s flushed cheeks and slightly unsteady stance. “I know the reasons you’re usually, let’s say… cautious about relationships.”
“I had a—" Ishani starts, but before she can continue, Zeeshan reaches over and slaps a hand over her mouth.
“Nope, not tonight,” he says, shaking his head in that overly serious way that’s half concerned friend, half exasperated parent. Turning to Disha Bhabhi, he adds, “Maybe we save this heart-to-heart for when she’s sober and doesn’t have such an… attentive audience,” he finishes, casting a pointed glance at me, Alia, and Agastya.
