CARABELLE IS DISGUSTED IN HERSELF. She's disgusted in the fact that she read from the cards Effie wrote. But even though she was silenced, it didn't stop some members of the district kiss their fingers out of respect for her.
She remains awake despite it being late. And I can tell she's overthinking everything. I press a soft kiss to her head, keeping my lips by her skin before mumbling out words. "You okay beautiful?" I ask and she sighs, hugging herself tighter in my embrace. "I'm okay." Her ear is on my chest and she listens to my heartbeat, I've learned that's something which grounds her. It shows her that what she's experiencing is real.
But she's hiding what she's really thinking because she doesn't want to burden me. But she never could. "You can talk to me, you know." I whisper out and stare down at her, watching as she nods her head. "I know." I brush my fingers through her long blonde hair, gently twisting the waved strands around my fingers.
"I love you." She announces, which makes my heart spike. I place another kiss to her head, a smile on my lips. "I love you too." I can't get enough of her saying those words. She fidgets with the hems of her long-sleeved grey woolly jumper.
Cara lets out a shaky breath and I can see tears clouding her eyes. She bits her lip, holding the fabric against her mouth to suppress a sob. "Hey, what's wrong?" I ask, worried, and she sniffles whilst wiping her eyes. "I don't know why I'm crying." I lift her small body and wrap my large arms around her, embracing her.
She rests her head in the crook of my neck. I shush her as she sobs and I brush my hands down her back gently. "You're okay, it's all going to be okay." She nods into my neck before moving away to wipe her wet eyes. I stare at her softly, tilting my head to try and get her to meet my gaze.
"Sorry." She mumbles and I sigh, taking her face in my hands. She's got to stop apologising for things she can't control. "Don't apologise for crying." I whisper out gently and brush away an escapee tear off her cheek. "I love you." Her grey eyes are clear and she stares at me and I give her a smile. I lean forward and gently capture her lips with mine.
"I love you too." I say against her lips which makes her smile. I move away and to lie back down but she takes my hands to stop me. "Wait." She says and I stop. She reaches for the bottom of her woolly jumper and my eyes follow her movements curiously.
She lifts the clothing over her head and throws it to the side. I keep my eyes on her face, being respectful. Does Cara wanna...? My cheeks heat up at the thought. "Are you sure?" I question and she nods. I place a soft kiss on her lips before pulling her down with me.

"Well you two were loud last night." Haymitch teases and I crack a smirk, but clear my throat at the embarrassed blush which creeps on Cara's skin. "Sorry, sorry." Haymitch lifts his arms in surrender before looking between the two of us.
"On a more serious matter. Snow is watching us." Carabelle swallows at the words. My face blanks and I put up a facade. There's cameras in this room. "If he wants you to pacify the districts, I promise you, he's not happy. Instead I bring in love, you two sound like you're reciting from a drilling manual." I roll my eyes.
"Try reading the stuff Effie gives us." I lean back in the chair. "Tell that the President Snow when you see him, two days from now." I sigh and sit forwards. "I'm open to suggestions." I respond harshly and Haymitch stares at me. Carabelle is silent, but I can tell she's overthinking everything.
"We could get married." She mumbles out and I look at her. Would she want to? Marry me, I mean? "That's not helping." Haymitch says and gulps his drink. "I'm serious." Cara says and looks up at him. "If we are on this train forever, it's bound to happen at some point, why not now?" Haymitch nods along.
I was planning on proposing to her. The ring is in my bedside drawer. And I've already got her sisters' permission, it's only a matter of when now.
"The district me will have to believe it. It will take the subject away from a... rebellion." Carabelle whispers the words and her eyes lift to the camera in the room. I can bet that we are being watched right this moment. "It doesn't make a statement. I'll give you that." Haymitch looks at me and I nod my head.
"Let's do it." I'll propose now. I look at Cara and take her hand, leading her to our room on the train. "Where are we going?" She questions and the automatic doors open. I step inside, taking in a breath. "I've been planning on doing this for a while now." I say and reach for the bottom drawer of the beside drawers.
My hands tremble slightly and I take a black box from it before sitting on the bed. "Cato.... Is that?" I nod my head and Carabelle sits down beside me. My heart is pounding quickly within me, I think I'm going to be sick. "I've already got your mothers, and your sisters' permission."
I lift my eyes to look at her shocked ones. "I want to do it, but not on camera." I say honestly. "Then do it." I chuckle slightly at her words before moving from the end and kneeling on the floor. Cara smiles at me, with tears stinging her eyes.
I open the box and she lets out a gasp, covering her mouth with her hands. "Carabelle Everdeen. Will you do me the honour of marrying me?" Her eyes are filled with pure happiness and she nods her head rapidly. "Yes! Yes of course!" I slip the ring onto her finger and she jumps into my arms.
I hold her tightly with a smile on my face, one that won't fade away.
