The Dragon Group's second meeting began hours later, with the outcome of the volleyball match fresh in everyone's mind. Ryuuen's pride had once again been trampled, as he was reminded of the pure difference in power between our classes.
Unfortunately for him, the ordeal wasn't over yet, as Operation Sonoda Masashi was about to take place.
As we waited for the final students to arrive, everyone's heads were flicking between us and Class C's corner of the room. Nobody wanted to be the first to speak.
The unbearable silence was only broken as Hashimoto strode into the room.
"Yoo, it's the King and Queen." He approached us with his phone in his hand. "You guys have to see what's happening on the school forums."
"King and Queen?"
"Don't stress the small things, King."
A cursory glance at his screen told me everything I needed to know. Several different angles of Miharu's spike and Ibuki storming off the court were playing all at once, and based on the comments under each one, they were all receiving a lot of attention.
"Nah bro Class 1-C is cooked😹"
"These first years look pretty interesting"
The list went on.
"Hahaha, Ryuuen-chan has to see this."
Miharu dared to speak a forbidden sentence that caused the room's temperature to drop several degrees, prompting Hashimoto to hurriedly take a seat. All eyes were on Ryuuen, but he simply smirked and stretched his arms.
"You played well, but a volleyball match won't stop me from crushing you in this exam."
It was subtle, but a sadistic glint appeared in Miharu's eyes. She told me beforehand that she wanted to do the talking in the beginning of the meeting, so I decided to sit back and pray for Class C's wellbeing.
"Actually, that reminds me, Ryuuen-chan..." Miharu tapped her chin for a cinematic effect.
"Are you the VIP?"
If there was a list of words everyone expected her to say, she asked a question that definitely wasn't on it, gaining a few perplexed stares.
"...A stupid question. I might be the VIP, but who knows?" Ryuuen's voice came across as condescending, but his eyes were narrowed, a common indication that he was trying to gauge any unseen motives.
"Ah, you're right, why would the VIP admit their role? It's not like we're gonna reach Outcome One..."
"..." Ryuuen didn't bother to respond, either out of caution or a lack of care.
"What do you mean, Hasegawa-san? Outcome 1 is the best for everyone, isn't it?" Ichinose spoke up.
"Sorry, Ichinose, I'll chat with you about that another time. Are you the VIP, Oda Takumi?"
She launched another question at the second Class C student in a row. The boy in question blinked in surprise.
"Uh... No?"
"Hmmm..."
She took a long pause, building suspension before inevitably moving on. Or course, there was no need for her to do any of this, but she was obviously enjoying every second.
"What about you, Sonoda Masashi?"
"...I'm not. Why do you ask?"
"No reason."
Her gaze moved on to Shiina Hiyori, who was expectantly waiting to be addressed by the next question.
Miharu opened her mouth. And no words came out. Suddenly, she whipped her phone out of her pocket and started typing frantically.
