Toxins of Blame

In the mini-world, a firebee drone worker flew up to the magic wielders in Mountain Sparks, who had just arrived alongside their bonded fairy animal.

"This is Inferna, the new Queen of Emberthorn Grove. These are my bonded fairy friends: Bloom's friend, Electra, the Fairy of Reserved Energy, and her new companion, perhaps, Stormy, the Witch of Storms," Elias introduced with a flourish.

The Tynix bracelet flashed, translating the buzzing of the bee into English.

"Thank you, Elias. I am so glad you have come. Ladies, my hives and colonies desperately need your help. As you saw, the Great Dragon himself is struggling to hold back the dark foes swarming above on Domino. The Ember Unicorn can break through the ground, but we need an energy boost, Electra," Inferna explained. "A high-voltage energy boost."

Electra glanced nervously at the approaching creature. It was a creepy sight: a firebee with golden, blazing antlers that mimicked deer horns, fire-red glowing eyes, and a chilling, fuzzy black face. Its back appeared to be overtaken by fungus gnat eggs, and it hovered on two hind legs, while the last pair of legs normally found on a bee was nonexistent. Its front legs resembled hawk talons, with extremely sharp, close-set toes, and it had a much larger shape than the true uncorrupted firebees.

"Stormy and Electra, get under Sunia's wings with Occula now," advised Elias. "The Infernohive bees are aggressive and fiercely territorial when born from the corrupted legacy of the Fire-eaters. These bees feed the Blazelegs you saw earlier—those grotesque millipede-dragon hybrids that are unnatural and do not belong here. To stop them, you must cut off their food supply. But be careful; you mustn't harm the bees, as they are Inferna's ancestors. If the leader dies, the entire fire hive will be destroyed, including Inferna. That would mean the end of all good on Domino forever."

"Then why hide here?" Stormy asked.

She and Electra settled beneath Sunia's massive dragon wings with Occula as the Infernohive approached the grove of Emberthorns. The bees buzzed and breathed their toxic spell over the plants, creating thick clouds of toxic pollen.

"It's their toxic pollen clouds you must beware of," Inferna warned the girls. "It not only kills the plants that my brothers and sisters diligently protect, but when the roots dries out, it pulls the nutrients from the ground, transforming the workers into those ugly beasts destined to be consumed."

"The toxic pollen will pass through your system immediately due to your high metabolism," Elias added gravely. "But You will still hear, see, and feel distracting, disorienting hallucinations. The immense side effects will drive you into utter despair. This pollen can target and kill hearts from miles away and across many portals. It's similar to what happened to me in China; the legend they refer to about their unicorn is no unicorn at all."

"I've seen and met the Qilin in Centopia, Elias," Electra confirmed. "I understand what you mean; she's neither fully dragon nor unicorn."

"Beware as you walk through the fog. You may recall places, people, and memories tied to shameful experiences, and you will see others battling those same demons through the hallucinations from miles away," Elias warned Electra and Stormy.

The Infernohive began to release their intimidating buzz upon sensing the intruders in their world. This collective buzzing could be amplified to create a low-frequency sound wave that instilled fear and disorientation in those nearby.

Electra and Stormy covered their ears against the horrid noises emitted by the corrupted bees as Elias cringed in anticipation of the approaching colony.

Despite the pounding headache, Electra cast out, "Turquoise Gongo Swarm!" Energized, mobile beings made of turquoise flames leapt from her hands in Tynix form. They began hopping away from the girls and their bonded fairy animals. "I once heard from an Elvish Queen and King. ''There are those who abandon hope as soon as they face difficulty and there are those who never abandon hope.' that was what the Queen said then the King asked me us Mia and me this question. "'Which kind do you suppose keeps the world from falling to pieces?!'"
