I gasp as my jaw dropped while reading the invitation paper.

Am I seriously being invited to Aurelia's Birthday banquet? The non-spoiled woman who exuded a natural grace and beauty that could effortlessly blend into the most prestigious of social spheres?! I cannot believe this...

Delicately, I placed the envelope in my drawer and went to bed, Although I doubt I will get any sleep tonight.

It was that irritating sound I hear every morning, the sound that echoed throughout the room, waking me up from my sweet slumber. I drowsily sat up and turned off that ringing buzzer, then i stood up and got ready to start my day, by starting my day I mean going to my favourite cafe.

As I wait for an important individual to enter the café, I sat there reading a book. When suddenly a pair of arms hugged me from behind, I quickly turn around to see "Margaret!" She chuckled upon me calling her name excitedly, now she's the important individual I told you about, why is she important? Because Margaret is my best friend and we both met and went at the same elite high school, so she is like a sister to me.

"Why are you here so early?" I ask as she made her way to the seat infront of me "I should be the one asking you that, why are you here at my café so early in the morning?"

Margaret also came from a prestigious family and she is a second child, Her family owns a huge company which will soon be given to her older brother. Although Margaret is rich, she decided to build her own café and not rely on her dad's money, Independent right? Now here she stands with her very own book café that is quite popular around our town.

I gave her a smile "are you free today?" she tilted her head slightly "why? Well I don't really have much to do" I took the invitation out from my purse and showed it to her, Margaret was surprised and immediately took my hand, not gonna lie i'm also surprised when she recognized the invitation just by the looks of it.  "This calls for a shopping spree!" we both stood up giggling, As we made our way to the exit a sudden throbbing pain bloomed in the back of my head, stabbing like a dagger into my brain. Making me stumble on my walk and lose my focus due to escalating pain, thankfully Margaret was there to catch me, she immediately called for an ambulance and I was taken to the hospital quickly.

"I told you it's nothing too serious!" I spat at her while sitting up at the hospital bed "If it's nothing too serious then why did you stumble?" she furrowed her eyebrows while crossing her arms "it's because I didn't get enough sl-" There was a knock on the door and that suddenly caught our attention. Margaret gave me a glare "we are not done yet young lady" She stood up and walked towards the door "whatever mom" I rolled my eyes and frowned like a child as Margaret open the door "Good afternoon doctor liam" Liam greets her back with a smile and the both of them walked towards my bed "Well... regarding about miss viella's sudden head ache..." we stared at each other communicating with our eyes, I shook my head slightly and he nodded.

"The cause was lack of sleep, Lack of sleep is quite likely the cause of your sudden headaches. It's important to prioritize getting enough rest to give your body and mind the time they need to recover and function properly."

Liam says calmly "does she need to take any pills?" He hands out the pill bottle to Margaret "she does actually" As liam explains I noticed that the pill bottle has no label on it, just as I expected "Alright thank you doctor" Liam exits the room and Margaret gave me my pills "see I told you it was because of my lack of sleep" she scoffs "yeah right, I'm not convinced" I placed the pills inside my bag and got up from the bed "C'mon we still need to go shopping for tomorrow" My arm wrapped around her's, Although she was displeased about going shopping when i just got rushed to the hospital, I still dragged her out of the hospital all the way to the mall and spoiler alert, tried hundreds of dresses but only bought five.

As the sun began to disappear the more I got nervous, tonight is the night of the banquet and I'm going alone, yes, alone. Maybe I shouldn't have come at all, I uneasily text Margaret 'are you coming tonight?' the moment I sent the text, the moment where my life also ends. and no, im not dying, i mean not yet..Im just nervous because i don't come to banquet's alone.

The body guard outside opened the car door for me and escorted me to the banquet hall, there was a lot of people, and I felt so...out of place.

I made my way to an empty table and sat there, as everyone began to settle down, a man with golden eyes and dark hair sat down beside me.
