Chapter 5

"When you truly love someone, you'll find a way to make things work, no matter the obstacles."

Luciano

I could feel her gaze lingering on me, Thus, I stepped away and made my way through the crowd. The weight of her eyes followed me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that she was still watching.

So I left the banquet hall, and the event buzz faded behind me. As I made my way to the exit, Theo my Current assistant, Opened the car door for me. I stepped into the car and Theo sat in the driver's seat then he started driving.

I should have invited all four of them so she wouldn't felt lonely earlier, I sighed while looking outside the car window. "Is there something on your mind sir?" Theo asks "It's not for you to inquire about." I mumbled coldly. Does he always need to know my every thought? If he thinks he can pursue a relationship with Viella while also being involved with me, he'd better think again. He should know that I won't tolerate being used and disrespected in that way.

I wish I hadn't told him about my meeting with her at the church, otherwise he wouldn't have asked me all those unnecessary questions. Considering that, I never liked it when Theo and Viella Were Engaged, Because he never treated her right. How can an engaged man still go to the club and fck with other girls, did he ever even think what Viella would feel. I'm still mad at him for hurting her, But I am glad she broke the engagement, Viella Deserves Better than a womanizer trash.

I opened my phone and viewed my mom's message, saying 'Where are you right now? your father has been waiting for you' They still treat me like a kid knowing that I'm 26 years old. Well, I should be thankful that they still care about me.

Without realizing we arrived at the mansion, I exited the car and headed inside, Only to see them all at the Dinner table, except for Aurelia, My parents will be joining a bit later for Aurelia's birthday because her party is expected to end late into the night, and she enjoys having some time to herself before they arrive, But then why is she here? Why did my parents arrange a family Dinner with...Alexandra? "What's all of this? Why did you call me?" My face contorted into an expression of utter confusion "First, you sit down, and then we will talk" Say's father, So I sat down next to my younger brother Magnus, but mostly we call him by his second name which is Lawrence, who is 24 years old, 2 years younger than me.

"Okay, I called Alexandra tonight because her parents, me, and then your mother agreed on something"

Father says happily "I did not agree to this" On the other hand, Mother spoke in an unhappy tone. "We talked about the idea of you and Alexandra getting married," he said, causing the room to fall silent."For what purpose, I wonder?" I retorted, unable to hide my skepticism, A rush of anger swelled inside me, but I kept calm, trying not to raise my voice

"Luciano, I know that this is too sudden but you are 26 years old, and you still have no wife" This time Father's tone was serious "stop using my age as an excuse father." I stood up from my seat, how could they decide this so easily? this feels like a scene from a television series.

"There is no reason for this marriage, we are done here." I was about to leave the room when Alexandra spoke "Are you seriously going to turn down this marriage where you can have a benefit just for that painter girl?" followed by a mocking scoff, I stopped in my tracks and turned around to face her.

The Audacity of this woman "And What benefit will I get from you? Money? Fame?" I took a step as I crossed my arms "Well I do have both, and if it's not enough-" Her lips formed a smile "How about I give you the whole company?" Did she realize that she just added fuel to the fire, father gasped "Really?" and there he goes, he was easily fooled. now I get why mom wanted a divorce. Alexandra nodded in response "Save it, stop trying to impress my parents with your lies. Go home because it's getting late" I walked out of the room, not waiting for a response.

Alexandra followed me out of the dining room to the stairs and held my wrist, stopping me from walking away "What's wrong with you?! im willing to give you our company!" My eyebrows furrowed from her ignorance, i turned to face her again, but this time with furry in my eyes.

"You can't fool me with your scheming. You might think you can buy our loyalty with your wealth and bribery, but let me make one thing clear: we are not materialistic. We don't need your riches, gold, or silver. Your chances of winning us over are zero. And most importantly, don't you DARE mention her again with your filthy mouth. Got that?"

I yanked my wrist away from her grip, my force almost making her fall down, but she didn't. but oh, how i wish she did. Alexandra was gritting her teeth. I don't care anyways, so I started to walk upstairs And went straight to my study, What were my parents thinking letting me marry that...woman...just as i was about to throw my phone, suddenly, I received a text from an unknown number.

I opened it to see "Good evening, Mr. Delacroix. This is Viella Maeve Starling from the Vision in Frames Company. I'd like to request a brief meeting with you tomorrow at 9:00 AM at the Book café." Viella? Is she asking me out? That seems unlikely, given how formal her request is. Maybe there's some other business she wants to discuss?

A small smile formed on my lips as I typed back "Sure, just make it quick"  I sent the text and I leaned down on my sofa, how did she know my number? My eyes slowly started to close and then I fell into deep sleep.

9:20 AM

I started to spray my perfume, and I wore my watch in a rush. I woke up late again, I should have alarmed my phone before going to sleep.

immediately, I sprinted out of the house with my car keys, then I stepped inside of the car and started driving. But then, traffic got in my way. Perfect timing,  It's fine for there to be traffic at 10 AM, but it just had to get clogged up specifically when I'm in a hurry. I sighed and took off my seatbelt then I stepped outside my car, and started running to the café.

9:34 AM

I arrived but I was out of breath. From the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of her through the cafe window. There she is, sitting alone in an empty Table while reading a book, She is Truly gorgeous.

I took a moment to compose Myself, Then I pushed open the door of the cafe and entered.
