"Bakura!" Yugi frowned at the newcomer as he caught the Millennium Ring.

"Hurry up, Yugi. Open the door to the past and face your destiny!" The Spirit of the Ring dramatically exclaimed with a malevolent grin and his arms spread out.

Marik held Akia close to him, his arms enveloping her protectively. Yugi grit his teeth, but complied, knowing this is what he had to do. Kaiba had been at the entrance of the inner tomb, watching everything unfold. When all the Millennium items and the god cards were in place, the tomb shone with a blinding golden light. A portal to the past was opened, and it sucked in the souls of the Pharaoh, the Evil Spirit of the Ring, Akia and Marik. Bakura collapsed, his psyche drained from the forceful possession by the Spirit of the Millennium Ring, while Yugi was left standing there, without the spirit of the Pharaoh present with him any longer. Yugi quickly ran to his sister who was now collapsed on the floor, both her and Marik unconscious, in each other's arms on the floor. Ishizu and Rishid ran to Marik.

"What is going on? Why are they unconscious?!" Yugi asked frantically, worried for his sister.

"They must have also been sucked into the portal to the past," Ishizu reasoned.

Shadi then appeared to them.

"Shadi...!" Yugi exclaimed.

"Vessel of Pharaoh, his soul is no longer with you," Shadi explained. "The Pharaoh went to the world of memories, along with Akia and Marik."

"World of memories?" Yugi asked.

"The world of memories is made from their experiences three thousand years ago," Shadi elaborated.

"Does that mean, he's forgotten about us?" Anzu asked.

"And what about Akia and Marik? Are they alright?" Yugi inquired.

"The Pharaoh retains his current memories. The Pharaoh will relearn why his soul was sealed in the Millennium Puzzle. As for Akia and Marik, they will be there until they remember their promise. If they manage to survive until then, they will return. If not... their souls will be lost forever, their reincarnation halted. All of them must relive their destinies once more," Shadi replied grimly.

"What did you say?!" Jounouchi lost his cool at the mention of Akia being in danger and went to grab Shadi's collar, only for his hand to go through his ethereal body. "What?! What's happening?!"

"I am no longer corporeal. My flesh is long gone," the Egyptian man explained calmly.

The group gasped.

"We're talking to a ghost?!" Honda yelled out.

"Bakura killed me a while back," Shadi revealed.

"Bakura!" Yugi exclaimed.

"The spirit inhabiting Bakura is an amalgamation of evil. He's planned all of this, luring the Pharaoh's soul into one final game and using Akia as his pawn," the Egyptian man explained.

"We have to do something! We have to help the Pharaoh and save my sister!" Yugi declared.

"There has to be a way! Right?" Jounouchi looked to Shadi.

"Please tell me... I want to help my other self and be there for my sister..." The young man pleaded.

"There is a way you can enter the world of memories: the Pharaoh's labyrinth of the heart inside the Millennium Puzzle. Find the true door," Shadi replied.

The group looked at each other and their strengthened their resolve. They would go in there and assist the Pharaoh while making sure Akia and Marik's souls were also safe.
Meanwhile, the Pharaoh awakened in his palace, standing on his balcony, facing his people below. He was confused and disoriented as they all cheered for him.
