Chapter 35 The Next Steps

I slept longer than I should have this morning. But I still made breakfast for everyone. I am snuggling our nestling egg. We kept it in our tent last night. But we had to take turns during our bedtime dessert fun.

We are traveling towards the east I think. Jessica, do you hear me? "Huh? Who said that?"  I held the necklace... It is I! Your grandfather! "Oh grandfather , how are things at the palace?" Nevermind that! Where are you?

" We made it to the Merlands last evening and stopped to rest! We are traveling east I think!" He chuckled ... Good timing! Now be prepared for your great grandpa! He may have a reward prepared for after you help get the god stone!

" Okay I'll do my best!" After a few minutes of talking to Mom , me Darryl talked with Caz awhile. Talking about his training , along the way and fighting with a sword.
His mom was a little more calm than before.

Then he talked with Heather using my necklace. He walked off for privacy but a twinge in my heart poked. I thought to myself " I can't get jealous I disappeared!" It just hurts , that he wouldn't talk to her in front of me too.

After two hours he slipped the necklace around my neck. Jessica! "Hmm?" I kept on walking ahead..
Look at me please! " What?" I said glancing his way... I don't understand this feeling! Or how I know you're upset with me ....

A throat clears... Ravus tries to get his attention. Mate bond!  Lyco said quietly behind us. Huh!?? You mean I get that like you guys?.. Yes Caz you are her mate! So anything you feel she feels! Drave answered the elephant question.

Jessica I love you too! " Did , I hide anything I said to them from you?"
I went and jumped back in the carriage. I can hear Caz from up here.. Damn it I didn't realize what I did! I wasn't freaking thinking! 
Kuro sat beside me and didn't say a word , only comforting as I rest on his chest.

Thank goodness we had zero encounters , with the undead and I just rested. Later that evening...  "Kahur come breathe on the egg! I think it's a little cool!" He and Bakur both did it. I , withheld a giggle as the carriage stopped.

Reaper , I am awaiting my great granddaughter princess Jessica! The half breed! I stepped out of the carriage " It's nice to finally meet you great grandpa , I am Jessica!"
Hmm! His eyes rake over me. " I'm not sure exactly who has the stone! But I know whoever he is , is trying to prove himself to the god of time!"

Come along!  I'm not sure , but I think he's going to be stubborn like grandfather.  We walked for nearly the whole day when a group of demi men came into view. They , have a big camp set up here.

" Caz!" Yes baby? I'm sorry before I wasn't thinking! "Are your legs cramping?" Yes! He said moving his leg. I snapped my fingers.. " Pickles are supposed to help!" Thanks!
Kyvern told me you took a human mate!

" Yes sir great grandpa! Caz , went to the same human school with me! Then after I got sent to train for five years he , and my cousin Heather got engaged to marry! So I'm hoping , we can get him back for his wedding in three weeks!"

Where is this party? Great grandpa asked. " On earth! I'm , not exactly sure which venue Heather picked! Where is it Caz?"
Don't ask me I let Heather do what she wants to! " Ya know women do appreciate , their mans opinion when he isn't being a turd!"

Grandpa guffawed and chortled. Then baby I'm the stinky one! Because I'm not getting my head bit off , by a grumpy bride that wants to dress me in pink! "Maybe , it won't look like pussy pink!"

" Whatever , I'm going to show up and smile!" Bakur lifted me in a princess carry.  And I got more laughs than my men.  Tama and Lyco set up the tent Caz and Drave set up the bed. Ravus and Ono started talking with grandpas men.
Murro went for a swim in the ocean , while I snuggled with the egg. Kuro talks with great grandpa about the next steps.
