Chase's point of view:

I lay on my bed looking up to the ceiling wondering why I can't get the dog out of my head. She's not a werewolf, so why does it bother me? I groan rubbing my hands down my face. I know there is something different about her, yet something familiar about her. What though?

My door bursts open, and I don't bother to look and see who it is. I know it's my brother because I can smell him. "Dad wants to talk to you." He says before he walks away. I groan sitting up on my bed. Why would he want me? I'm just a disgrace to him. I'm not a killer like him or Damon.

I get up and hurry to my father's office. I get to the door and run a hand through my hair. Before I open the door my mom does smiling at me. "Chase, come on in. How are you?" She says trying to hug me. I hug her kissing her cheek.

"Maci, can you leave Chase and I to talk." My father says. She looks at him letting out a warning growl before she leaves closing the door behind her.

"What do you want dad?" I ask sitting in the seat across from his desk.

"Where were you this morning?" He asks. I get asked this almost everyday, and it's all because of that dog. I just feel a pull to her, but I don't know why.

"Out." I answer. My father sighs crossings is arms and leaning against his desk chair.

"Chase, where were you. I just want to know you aren't getting in trouble." He says his blue eyes lock with mine.

"I needed to check something out." I say vaguely. He growls at my answer closing his eyes trying to clam his nerves.

"Chase." He growls. "That's not a good answer."

I don't get why it is such a big deal. This was the first time in a week I went to go see her. Okay... So maybe a week isn't long enough. But for me it was torture, and I don't get why.

"Chase, why do you keep leaving? Your mother is getting worried." He says tired. I lean forward resting my elbows on my knees. I hide my face in my hands letting out a frustrated sigh.

"Son, what's wrong?" My father asks.

"No one understands!" I growl getting really frustrated. "I just feel this pull to her, but I don't think we are mates."

My father looks at me with a mixture of confusion and concern on his face. I look at him with wide eyes. Why did I just tell him that?

"Who is this lucky wolf?" He asks leaning forward resting his folded hands on his desk. I groan slouching lower in my seat.

"Dad, it's not like that." I groan standing up and head to the door. I hear him chuckling as I shut the door. I look and don't see anyone, which makes me happy. I need to see her again... I need to get to the bottom of this. I get to the front door, but Bentley stops me. I growl at her, and she just growls right back.

"Where are you going?" She asks arms crossed over her chest. I roll my eyes.

"I need to go sis, now please move." I say reaching for the door knob.

"Chase!" My niece yells giggling running to me. She hides behind my legs as her father runs in chasing her.

"Ryder, I thought I told you not to bother this little princess." I say picking up little Sofia. Ryder chuckles holding his hands up in fake surrender.

"I'm so sorry it won't happen again. Please spare me." He fake pleads.

"Well..." I joke.

"Chase, wet daddy go." Sofia begs giggling in my ear. I laugh putting her down on the ground. I squat down next to her kissing her cheek.

"I have to go out now, but I'll be back later okay." She nods her head before running off. I stand up and look to Bentley. "Don't tell Damon." I say. She nods her head moving out if my way.

I get out of the house and shift as soon as I get to the woods. I take off towards her house, but I'm tackled to the ground by a great force. I know right away it is Damon.

I growl at Damon as he has me pinned to the ground. 'Where are you going brother?' He growls. I growl back pushing him off me.

'Its none of your business.' I growl at him. He snorts, and I growl at his amusement.

'You're sneaking out again, why?' He asks cocking his head at me. I growl warning him to stop. He doesn't as his eyes turn pure black. I feel my wolf go into beast mode too, and I know my eyes are black too.

It's always been like this- a competition. Before we can fight our mom comes out growling loudly. I calm down knowing this isn't who I want to be, and run.

I run until I make it to her territory. It's dusk now and I can hear a girl laughing and a dog excitedly barking. I walk close to the edge if the woods and see her with her human. But she can't be a regular dog. She us too big, she is nearly four feet. I hear I twig snap an look to see another huge dog. He is four feet- defiantly not a normal dog.

He growls at me warning me to leave. I just smirk a wolfy smirk snorting. I growl back warningly as I stand tall. If he thinks he has a chance against me he's wrong. He might even be plain stupid. I watch him try standing tall too, but he isn't close to my hight.

I stand my ground and look over at the other dog. This male one growls louder at me. Are they mates? Siblings? I keep watching her as she looks over meeting my eyes. She freezes her tail lowering, but wagging slowly. Her ears perk towards me, and it looks like she's nervous. I turn to look at the male dog, but he grabs my neck.

This pisses me and my wolf off. I feel my wolf let out a loud deep throated growl. I turn grabbing the dog by his neck, but stop before snapping it. I only stop getting thrown to the ground by another dog. More and more were seeping through the woods coming for me. What the hell is going on?
