Kayden POV

As the jet ascended, the landscape of our city transformed into a patchwork of greens and browns beneath us. I settled back into my seat, stealing glances at Avani, who was gazing out the window with an expression of wonder. The excitement in her eyes made my heart swell.

"Isn't it beautiful?" I asked, nudging her gently.

"It is! I can't believe I'm finally getting to see the beach house!" she exclaimed, turning to me with a bright smile. "I've seen so many pictures, but being here in person is a whole different vibe."

"You're going to love it. The beach is gorgeous, especially at sunset. Trust me, it's worth the trip," I promised, feeling eager to share this part of my life with her.

Avani leaned closer, resting her head on my shoulder as she continued to admire the view. "Thank you for bringing me, Kayden. I needed this after all the drama with your family," she said softly.

I sighed, feeling the weight of the earlier confrontation settle in again. "I'm sorry about Kim and Kendall. They can be so overprotective sometimes. It's like they think they know what's best for me, but they don't know you. They'll come around, though. Just give them time."

"I hope so," Avani replied, her voice thoughtful. "But honestly, I'm not worried about them. I'm here for you. If they can't see how amazing you are, then that's their loss."

Her words wrapped around me like a warm blanket, easing the tension that had knotted in my stomach. I leaned down and pressed a kiss to her temple. "You're incredible, you know that?"

Avani blushed and pulled away slightly, looking up at me with a teasing grin. "Are you trying to charm me into forgetting about your family?"

"Maybe a little," I admitted, chuckling. "But mostly, I just want you to know how much you mean to me. I want you to feel at home with me, not like some outsider."

"Trust me, I feel at home with you," she said, her gaze locking onto mine. "And I'm excited to make some memories together."

As we talked, the jet leveled off, and the flight attendant came by with refreshments. "Can I get you anything to drink?" she asked, flashing a friendly smile.

"Just some water for me, please," I said, glancing at Avani.

"I'll take a lemonade, thanks!" Avani chimed in, her enthusiasm brightening the cabin.

After the attendant left, I turned back to Avani, eager to keep the good vibes rolling. "So, what do you want to do first at the beach house? I've got a whole list of activities planned, from paddleboarding to bonfire s'mores."

"Ooh, s'mores! I'm definitely in for that," she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "But can we hit the water first? I've been dying to try paddleboarding!"

"Absolutely! We'll get right into it. I've got the boards and everything set up," I promised, feeling a rush of anticipation at the thought of spending a carefree day with her.

As the flight continued, we laughed and shared stories about our childhoods. Avani told me about her growing up in a small town, where she often spent time dancing in her backyard and dreaming of bigger things. I shared some embarrassing moments from my childhood, including the time I tried to impress my dad by catching a football and ended up tripping over my own feet.

"Wait, you? Clumsy?" Avani laughed, clearly amused. "I can't picture that at all!"

"Oh, it's true! I've had my fair share of embarrassing moments," I replied, shaking my head. "Like the time I thought I could impress a girl by trying to do a backflip and ended up landing on my face."
