Shubman's gaze flickered down to Sara's slender palm, adorned with rings, bracelet and beautiful intricate patterns of henna drawn on them, which were a dark brown.

His hand gently grasped hers, as he stared down at the design.

" Since when have you been so interested in a girl's hands?"

" It's the mehendi I'm looking at." He was quick to retort.

" That too. You didn't even spare Abigail's a glance."

" Her's looked awful."

" And mine looks pretty?" She asked, arching a brow at him.

" It does. It's very pretty. It's quite dark too."

" Oh yes, I noticed. And thank you." She nodded.

" Y'know...it's often said, the girls who have their mehendi dark, have their husbands head over heels for them."

" I've heard." She hummed, failing to understand what was he trying to get at.

" So do you have a boyfriend?"

She blinked at him in confusion.
" That was weird and I don't understand why are you asking me this question when you know the answer."

" Still single?" He tsked and she rolled her eyes, pulling her palm out of his grasp.

" So are you."

" Was about to get married."

" Mr.Gill, ought I remind you, you ran away ?"

" No Miss Tendulkar, you needn't. Apparently, I remember quite well that I ran away with you."

" Whatever. How do you know all this anyway?"

" Know what?"

" That saying."

" I've also heard. Anushka Bhabhi's mehendi was really dark at their wedding, everyone teased her saying it's because her husband loves her a lot—which he does."

Sara smiled softly.
" He does." She agreed.
" They've got quite a dreamy tale, everyone yearns to have what they do."

" Do you?"

" Don't you?"

Shubman smiled at the question, but did not answer her.

" So I've got to leave for my conference meeting in fifteen minutes, I'll be gone for long, there're enough snacks in the kitchen, and the food's ready too, if you need anything, text me, I'll reply when I see the message."

" I'll drive you there." He offered and she shook her head.

" It's okay, I'll go."

Shubman scowled at her, well aware of the reason behind her refusal.

" I'm not that bad a driver!"
