"Lucas?"

I look up and I see a guard walking out of one of the offices.

"Hudson" I say as I see him

"What are you doing here?" He asks

"Bellick dragged me here and then ran off to his car" I admit as I look up at him

"What- Come on I will take you back to your cell" he says, deciding it's better to just take me back then ask too many questions

I get up off the ground and I hold my hands out

"What are you doing?" Hudson asks

"I'm waiting for my handcuffs.... The judge said that I have to wear them outside of my cell at all times when I'm not in the block" I tell him

He glances at me before his mouth forms an O shape

He quickly works on putting them on me.

After he gets them on, after a few attempts at the lock, he stands

"Let's get you back to your cell"

I nod with a small smile- his fumbling dementia showing me how nervous he is.

We walk out of the locked corridor and back outside again by the outside fenced area. We begin our walk around and I decide to make small talk

"You got a family Hudson?" I ask

The man tenses beside me before he nods

"I'm not supposed to talk about them to inmates but you remind me of my daughter" he says "she's just had her prom"

I smile

"My younger sister is probably around the same age from the sounds of it- I grew up surrounded by sisters" I laugh

"Oh- my wife said that we should have tried for one more baby but we never did... I often wonder what it would of been like for my daughter to have a sister" he admits as he opens the door to the correct corridor and I walk in after him

"Is she a good kid?"

"Yeah she's fairly good- she's not too academic but she tries and she's good at sports." He says with a look of love on his face "you remind me of her in some ways- the odd one out to everyone else. She would often complain that the boys around her were stupid and only wanted her attention for bad things"

I laugh "I bet I'm nothing like her Hudson.... We sound like we have the same issues but she sounds like a smart young girl- she'd never be in a place like this" I say as we walk into the control office by the cell block.

"You can call me Robert if you want" he tells me suddenly "I wasn't supposed to tell you my first name but now that you know it you might as well use it... calling me Hudson sounds like I'm your teacher" he says with a chuckle

"Na- wouldn't want to get you in trouble..... you can call me sienna if you want.. seems only fair" I say

Hudson walks over to the control panel and presses the alarm button to tell the male inmates to get into their cells.

As they start to move we watch them through the glass.

"Lucas" he starts and I smile to myself at him respecting that I don't like using my first name "The men in this prison.... Some of them have done awful things. Rapey-killing children type of things... as long as you didn't do any of that then you're an angel in my eyes- just like my daughter" he says

I think for a second before I speak

"Don't do that Hudson" I say in a whisper

"What?" He asks as we continue to watch the noisy inmates move on the other side of the glass

"Don't sell your daughter short. She sounds like an angel because she's in school and thriving- I bet she's even got a few awards and some sports medals- stuff like that makes her an angel. Me on the other hand- I didn't even make it through high school... I killed someone. Don't compare me to her I'm not worth it. I know what it's like to have a Dad that doesn't appreciate me- don't be that Dad"

The alarm sounds that all the cell doors are closed and Hudson presses the button to open the control centre door.

We walk past the cages of men and come to mine

"Open her cell!" He shouts and the operator does as he asks

I walk inside

"Door closing" he shouts

The door closes and he stops to look at me

"I know you said not to but I had someone check for that bird in the walls... nothings there." He says

I smile at how sweet that was but my chest skips a beat at the idea of him finding Micheal there.

"Thanks, I appreciate it" I say "and good luck" I tell him

He glances at me with a Confused expression

"I can tell that you're fairly new to all this so good luck on the job" I say

He smiles

"Good luck to you too- whatever you did and whoever you did it to.... I don't think that you deserve to be here. No women deserves to be here"

He walks away and I look after him. God I hope he knows what he's getting himself into working in a place like this- he's one of the sweetest people I've met.
