This book is turning into a novel and I'm kinda here for it.
IF FOUND ON ANY...
"I need you to do something for me.... Something really important"
Immediately I grow more confused
"Of cause" I say seriously "but I'm confused- how did you get this number?"
"I asked Pope as a favour... it's a long story" he sighs
"Well I've got time" I say
He laughs before he starts to explain
"Pope thinks one of the guards assaulted me due to the doctor finding a piece of guard uniform in my burn. Pope thought a guard burnt me and when I finally told him who did, even though It wasn't true, he fired Geary which worked out for Sucre. He had been screwing with him and taking his money. Pope felt really bad about the whole situation so I took advantage of it and asked for a favour- he gave me your number from your file" he says
I nod eventhough he can't see me
"Anyway, I got out of psych after that" he finishes
"Sounds like you had quite the week" I say
"And that's why I needed to talk to you, after all of this....I need a favour" he says
"What is it?" I ask as I shift in my seat
My sister sips her drink as she watches me, not knowing who is on the phone
" Veronica- she's Lincoln's ex-girlfriend, she's like a sister to me. I wanted you two to meet... but not like this. I'm worried about Lincoln's appeal and I wondered if you would go to her and see how she's doing? She's not visited in a few weeks- I'm a bit worried"
"Of cause" I say straight away "if me getting released can help you then that's what I want to do." I say "Have you got anyway for me to contact her?" I ask
"I can remember her last phone number, however I'm not convinced she's got the same one- if something bad has happened then she would have destroyed her phone straight away.... She's smart" he chuckles
"Well I'll try that way of contact first- might as well" I say
He agrees and starts to remember her phone number as I scribble it down in my notebook.
"Ok, I think I got it, but will she even know who I am. I mean if I just call her then she won't know who I am-"
"Trust me, she knows who you are. Lincoln and I have talked about you enough the past few months- she's eager to meet you" he confirms
I smile as I feel myself blushing
"Really? I didn't think you told many people about me, I am a convicted felon after all" I say in awkwardness.
"Well so am I" he says
Instead of arguing I just hum
"Yes, I forget. Well, stay safe. I won't be visiting you for a few days- having to find a place and everything" I say
"Love you" he says
"I love you too" I say as the phone call ends
I smile as I look up at my sister.
She simply smiles "and you said that you'd got different priorities then men when you were in prison" she says
I shake my head as I brush her off
"Michael's different" I argue
She laughs into her tea "whatever you say, he sounds nice so I'll not push"
"You could hear?" I ask
"I always hear" she laughs and I gasp as I lean over and playfully hit her as she squeals
