Author's Note:

Hello all! Yep I'm finally back with a new chapter. Sry for not posting anything for months. Med school and my mental health were spiralling out of control and I didn't have the energy to focus on anything else. But NCIS: ORIGINS kinda brought back my enthusiasm to write again. It amped my desire to write this story even higher and here I am with a new chapter. And what a premiere right? My Gibbs-loving heart is beyond happy and satisfied!

Anyways before going in, a small note. I kinda rewrote the previous chapter a little bit because it turns out I was a completely different person like 5 months ago and now the previous chapter needed some fixing for this chapter to blend in together with the whole story.

So anyone who read the last chapter months before, I would recommend you skim it quickly once again before you read this one, for a nice reading experience. If you don't wanna do that, no problem you can still read this one. With that let's get right to it...

Monday morning....

Olivia's Pov....

Wait....He works at NCIS!!!

A sudden thought pops into my head, making me bounce with anxiety. He works at NCIS!!!. That means he might have heard about my future boss. Might even know him!! I mean sure I applied to NCIS and got in. I might have met all the requirements, I might even have a double masters in criminology and criminal justice. I might also have Grace's recommendation, but all that doesn't guarantee that I'll get the job, because none of it changes the fact that I'm technically a newbie. I don't have any experience in crime solving at all. It all hinges on this interview and my hopefully future boss liking me and hiring me. So If I could gather some information about him which will help me impress him and get the job?

Yeah, I'm totally not above playing dirty at all.

Zoning in on that particular objective, I turn around and give him a completely innocent smile, I know will totally work and commence my info gathering mission.

"Hey, So you said you work at NCIS right?" I ask as nonchalantly as possible, gauging his reaction. He gives me a tiny nod which I take as encouragement and get comfortable. Twisting around in the seat, I get my legs under me, so that I am completely facing him now. "What exactly do you do there?"

"Hm, A little bit of crime solving, a bit of paperwork," He chuckles to himself but it's a little stiffer than before. It's like an invisible tension trumping between us but I am sure it's just my imagination." A lot of paperwork really. Mostly I sit at my desk and order my team around. "

Hmm. He must be some high level paper pusher then. He has the whole typical high level government bossman vibe going on.

"So you are like a very big fish at NCIS then? Like you sit around evaluating papers and typing on a computer while people run around to do your bidding, at a single glance from you? "
