Wren bounced into their room, coming to a stop in front of where Matteo was sitting on the sofa. He held up a piece of paper in his face. "Look! I passed!"

His husband smiled, grabbing Wren's waist and pulling him into his lap, tickling his belly and making him squirm.

"Stop!" He shouted through his laughs. "You're gonna wrinkle it!"

Wren had passed his driving exam.

It had been almost two years since the day they'd moved back into this room, and the one-year anniversary of their marriage was coming up in about a month. They were extremely happy together. Wren had struggled at first, unable to fully trust Matteo, and it had taken months of therapy and time with him to help Wren overcome his trauma. He still had nightmares about the fire occasionally, but whenever it happened, he always awoke with Matteo's strong arms around him.

Vincenzo was happily swept up in his own new relationship with a woman. Unlike Elena, she was kind, loving, and didn't care about the Boss's money. They had met at the coffee shop she worked at when he went in one day after a meeting downtown.

Dace and Leo were doing good; Dace had recently gotten into a knife fight with a rival family's guard, but his wounds weren't fatal and Leo was taking care of him.

Wren was finally able to enjoy life. He had enough food, he wasn't being abused, and he had someone constantly watching over him, showering him with love. He'd been wary at first, but now, he was finally at peace.

He prayed every day for it to last.
