Vine started backing up, but Spotty thrust her head forward, her eyes searching his.
Regret seemed to overwhelm his little figure.
"Why would you say that, Vine? That's not something you'd say, I know you." Spotty was getting overly emotional.
"Mom, no! It wasn't his fault!" Suddenly Vine's siblings were beside him, their ears flat. "One of his classmates dared him to insult you, but Vine didn't want to do that. But he also didn't want to back down to that bully, and obviously is regretting it." Mint shot her brother a disgusted look.
Spotty seemed to shocked and confused to process it. Heartily came up to Spotty.
"I overheard Vine's classmate daring your son to come and insult you too, but before I could stop him, he'd already began speaking. By the looks of it, he didn't want to hurt your feelings but didn't want to seem like a coward toward such an awful dare."
Now Spotty understood, and she was softly speaking to her son while the bully's parents were having a bit of an unpleasant chat with him.
"Guess what, Vine? He got in so much trouble this is mom and dad are making him sit alone at the Flat Rock for the rest of the party!" Twig announced to his brother, who still sat close to his mother.
He nodded, but still looked so remorseful. Heartily, not wanting to feel like a cornered mouse on her special night, took a deep breath, planted a smile on her face, and began to enjoy the rest of the party.
It'd only began! There was much more to do, like socialize for instance!
Socialize, how amazing... she groaned to herself.
"Heartily, right? I'm Raven." Heartily turned around to the sound of a beautiful, smooth voice. She smiled. It was the gorgeous black cat at the school. Heartily thought she was pretty cool.
"Correct. Greetings, Raven. I love your eyes."
"Why thank you. That means a lot to me, to hear such a wonderful comment. Congratulations on your expectance. I have two of my own and believe me, they are an energized mess." And Heartily believed her.
Kittens were sure a handful sometimes. And she knew it, especially since she had been one herself and experienced it.
Heartily decided to have a look at what the party contained. A group of cats were unpleasantly playing the same game as the kittens were, and another group were getting ready to host a classic alley cat game created by one of the first Sharp-Eyes ever, known as, 'Who Can Do It Better?' (a/n: not a real game [that I know of], I just made it up)
It was a game where two cats hosted the game, and said a challenge, and three or five other cats had to try and do as best as they good, and whoever did it better got a prize such as prey, a pretty object, or a set of fancy or not so fancy things the cat could choose from.
Heartily wanted to join in and watch the cats play, but first, she wanted to check out a few other things. Up at Bloom, Chief Ticker, Lily, Meadow, Raven and the other Queens were laying around with mice and birds.
They were talking about funny times, sad times, happy times, first times, last times, furious times, relieved times, a lot and a lot of different times.
Down at the bottom of the hill, the students and Sharp-Eyes were now departing to the group who were playing 'Who Can Do It Better?' The Chief and everyone else were making their way down as well.
Heartily followed the crowd, her plumed tail whisking out behind her. She glanced around for Perry, and saw him further away. She set in the direction of her mate, her ear twitching as she pushed her way through.
