I step into the hotel room, and my jaw drops. It's massive, with floor-to-ceiling windows showing off a stunning view of Delhi at night. The room is beautifully decorated, with plush sofas, a massive king-sized bed, and enough space for us girls to feel like queens. Ayush really went all out with this.
The girls are just as amazed as I am. "Wow, Amina! Your husband knows how to spoil you," Lila says, throwing herself onto the giant bed. "This place is incredible!"
I grin, pulling out my phone to call Ayush. As the phone rings, Zuri and Nina start unpacking their things, already getting into the excitement of our girls' night. When Ayush picks up, I hear his voice immediately, full of warmth.
"Hey, beautiful. How’s the room? You like it?"
"It’s beyond amazing, Ayush," I say, my heart swelling at how thoughtful he is. "You didn’t have to do all this."
"Oh, but I did," he replies, his tone teasing. "I wanted to make sure you and the girls have the best time. But... I’m missing you already, you know."
I can’t help but laugh. "We’ve only been apart for an hour, Ayush."
"And it already feels like an eternity. The bed feels so empty without you here."
As soon as the words leave his mouth, Lila, Zuri, and Nina burst into laughter, having overheard him. "Oooh! Someone’s missing his wifey already!" Zuri teases, wiggling her eyebrows at me.
I cover my face with my free hand, trying not to laugh. "Ayush, you’re making it very hard to have a girls' night when you're saying things like that."
"I can't help it. You have fun, but don’t forget to call me before bed," he says, his voice lowering. "Or better yet, come back early?"
"Yeah, not happening," I reply, chuckling. "Go to sleep, Ayush. I’ll call you later."
As I hang up, the girls start teasing me mercilessly. Nina smirks. "Oh, Amina, he's that husband, huh? The one who can’t handle a night without you."
"Yeah, yeah," I say, waving them off. "It’s cute though, right?"
Zuri shakes her head, laughing. "So cute it's disgusting. Now come on, we need to start our girls' night the right way."
We grab our pajamas, throw on comfy robes, and gather around in the living room area. Lila, of course, is the first to bring up her love life. "Okay, so... I went on this date last week," she starts, eyes twinkling with mischief. "He was tall, dark, and gorgeous, but—"
"But?" I ask, leaning in with curiosity.
"He spent the entire night talking about his workout routine!" she groans. "It was like a live fitness podcast, and I'm not here for it."
We all burst into laughter, the sound filling the room. "Oh, Lila, you really know how to pick them," Zuri says, shaking her head.
"At least I’m not like Nina, with her weekly exchange of men," Lila shoots back, smirking.
