"Evelyn, I'm giving you this telephone, okay? Please put it near your bed."
OH MY GOSH I HAVE TO CALL MY MOM OH NO
I snatched the telephone and dialed the number frantically.
She picked up almost immediately.
Like it barely had time to ring..
"Evelyn, you're late! Did you forget to call..??"
"..no.." I lied.
LISTEN TECHNICALLY I DIDN'T, OKAY ?!
I heard her sigh in frustration.
"Okay, what happened today? Did you meet somebody this time?"
"Well, actually! I did. There's this boy named-"
Before I could finish, I heard her sigh nervously at the mention of a boy.
???
"This boy named Alex. He's pretty cool. He seems the cool, silent type." I smiled, ignoring it.
"Just be careful, Evelyn. Boys can be terrible. Please be careful. Don't forget it."
A pang of anxiety hit me as she said that.
"Yes, of course mom. I love you!" I decided to cut it short.
"I love you. May God bless you."
"God bless you!" I giggled before the call quit.
I closed my eyes, and fell asleep, hoping I didn't forget anything.
