Jungkook stood behind the curtain, his eyes narrowed as he watched Y/N step out of the sleek car in front of their house. The moment she came into view, he recognized the car instantly, and his heart clenched with something he hadn't felt in a long time-jealousy.

"That bastard, Eunwoo!" Jungkook gritted his teeth, barely controlling the anger surging through him. What is he doing driving my wife home?

The irony of the situation didn't escape him. He had been the one unfaithful, sneaking around behind Y/N's back, betraying her trust. But seeing her with someone else-with Eunwoo-set a fire inside him. His emotions twisted, confusing even to himself. He was the one at fault, yet the thought of another man being close to Y/N made him seethe.

Earlier that day, he had come home early, planning to surprise her for a change. He wanted to do something different, to ease his own guilt perhaps, but now the tables had turned. Y/N had surprised him. And not in a way he liked.

He paced for a moment, before heading to the living room. His fingers were wrapped tightly around a glass of whiskey, the ice clinking against the glass as he sat in the armchair, the dim light casting shadows across the room. His mind raced. What had Y/N and Eunwoo talked about? How long had they been together? Why didn't she tell him about it?

The front door creaked open, and Y/N's silhouette appeared, softly illuminated by the hall light as she made her way toward the living room. Jungkook stayed silent, waiting.

When she finally stepped into the room and saw him sitting in the dark, her eyes widened in surprise. "Jungkook, you scared the hell out of me!" she exclaimed, placing a hand over her chest. But then, just as quickly, a smile spread across her lips, as if nothing was out of the ordinary.

Her calmness only made him more furious.

"Who's driving you home?" Jungkook asked, his tone low and cold.

Y/N stopped a few feet in front of him, looking down at him with that same bright smile. It was unsettling how easily she could pretend everything was fine, as if she didn't notice the edge in his voice.

"An acquaintance," she replied, her tone light, as if his question didn't matter.

Jungkook clenched his jaw, swirling the whiskey in his glass but keeping his eyes locked on her. "An acquaintance?" he repeated. "Since when do acquaintances drive you home?"

She shrugged, still smiling. "Since it's late and I needed a ride."

Y/N stepped closer, standing right in front of him, her expression calm, her smile unwavering. But there was something behind her eyes that made Jungkook uneasy, something distant, as if she was hiding more than she was letting on.

"You didn't answer my question properly," Jungkook muttered, his grip tightening on the glass. "Who was it?"

Y/N sighed softly, the smile still lingering on her lips. "Does it really matter, Jungkook?"

Her words stung. Did it matter? Of course, it did. How could she act so nonchalant about it?

"Was it Eunwoo?" he finally spat, his voice low and dangerous.

Y/N's expression didn't falter. She met his gaze with a calmness that infuriated him. "Yes, it was. Is that a problem?"

Jungkook stood up suddenly, the force of his movement making the ice in his glass clink loudly. He was standing so close to her now that he could feel the warmth of her body, but there was an invisible wall between them-one he had put there himself.

"Why is he driving you home?" Jungkook demanded, his voice laced with jealousy and frustration. "Do you think it's appropriate for you to be with him?"

Y/N's smile faded slightly, and she tilted her head, looking at him as if he were the one being irrational. "Appropriate?" she repeated, a bitter laugh escaping her lips. "Are we really going to talk about what's appropriate now, Jungkook?"
