Y/N walked into the luxury boutique with Jennie by her side, their arms linked and laughter echoing through the store. She hadn't felt this lighthearted in a while. Shopping with Jennie, her closest confidante since childhood, was the perfect way to clear her mind before the Jeon family dinner. This annual event had always been a test of her patience, with her mother-in-law's judgmental glares and veiled comments. But tonight, she was ready for a change.

She needed to look her absolute best, not just for the Jeons, but for herself. After this morning's tense encounter with Jungkook and the bold showdown with his mistress, Y/N felt a strange kind of freedom-a renewed sense of strength. And Jennie, as always, was the perfect partner in crime.

"So, spill it," Jennie said, a mischievous smile playing on her lips as she thumbed through the racks of dresses. "I could tell by your text that you had some serious tea for me."

Y/N chuckled, picking out a sleek black dress with a daring slit. She lowered her voice, glancing around to make sure no one could overhear. "Where do I even begin?"

"Start with the mistress," Jennie urged, her eyes lighting up with curiosity.

Taking a deep breath, Y/N launched into the story, detailing every shocking encounter. She told Jennie about seeing the woman on Jungkook's lap, the nerve she had to show up at the office, and how Y/N had shut her down in front of him that morning.

Jennie's eyes widened in disbelief. "Wait, so the mistress just waltzed into his office like that? Wow. And you-girl, sitting on his lap? Savage."

Y/N smirked, feeling a bit of pride. "It felt good, honestly. She looked like she was about to lose it. I could see the jealousy in her eyes."

Jennie nudged her shoulder playfully. "This is the energy I've been waiting for. Finally! You've been way too nice to him and his whole family."

Y/N sighed, her fingers brushing over a sparkling silver gown. "For three years, I've done everything to be the perfect wife, the perfect daughter-in-law. And for what? Just to be looked down on by his mother and ignored by him."

Jennie squeezed her hand gently. "Listen, you deserve so much better than that. I'm glad you're standing up for yourself now."

There was a pause as Y/N hesitated, debating whether to share her last piece of news. She wanted to tell Jennie everything, but she wasn't ready to reveal the pregnancy just yet. That secret was hers to hold onto for now. She still needed time to process it on her own and to figure out how it would fit into her plans.

"So, what are you wearing tonight? You've got to look absolutely breathtaking," Jennie said, sensing Y/N's internal debate and steering the conversation back to lighter territory.

Y/N held up a sleek red dress, eyeing it thoughtfully. It was bolder than anything she'd worn before to one of these dinners. The rich fabric hugged her figure, and the color was as fierce as she felt.

"I think this one," she said, smiling. "I want to make an impression."

Jennie grinned approvingly. "Oh, you will. Jungkook won't be able to keep his eyes off you. And his mother? She'll be speechless."

Y/N's expression softened as she thought about the family dynamics she'd soon be facing. She'd always tried so hard to win over Jungkook's mother, but every attempt had been met with coldness and dismissive remarks, especially about her inability to get pregnant. Y/N smiled to herself, her hand brushing over her stomach. Little did her mother-in-law know, that piece of news would be revealed when Y/N was ready, and she could only imagine the look on her face.

"Tonight's going to be different," Y/N said confidently. "I'm not the same naive girl they used to know. I'm done playing their game by their rules."

Jennie nodded, her eyes sparkling with pride. "Now, that's the Y/N I know and love. Let's show them exactly who they're dealing with."
