Shangguan Mo couldn't help but laugh. So, to fulfill her sister's relationship with the Crown Prince, she was sacrificed. It was clearly a sacrifice for her, yet it was presented as a kind of charity—how ridiculous!

Anyone with a bit of sense would know that this marriage alliance was not a good deal. Leaving home and family, being all alone, and a princess sent for marriage could never ascend to the throne as queen. The Ming Emperor was a 50-year-old man; while she didn't know much about the Crown Prince of Cang Kingdom, he likely wouldn't be lacking in charm. Once she became the Crown Princess, when the Crown Prince ascended the throne, she would become the queen. The difference in status was clear.
Fortunately, Shangguan Mo was not a true princess, so the Ming Emperor probably wouldn't think of using her as a hostage. Moreover, if she had truly been as weak and easy to bully in her past life, Cang Kingdom wouldn't have expected her to take risks to convey any messages. So what was this marriage alliance really for? It couldn't just be to strengthen the friendship between the two countries, could it? Her instincts told her it wasn't that simple!
Shangguan Mo ignored the pompous Yuanxiang and lay down on the bed. She needed to rest and allow her soul and body to fully merge.
"You... Shangguan Mo! You actually ignored me! I will definitely tell the second miss!"
Shangguan Mo curled her lips; it seemed she had always been oppressed by her sister! Tell the second miss? She didn't even think about where she was!
Yuanxiang's cheeks flushed with anger. In the past, with the second miss backing her, even if she bullied Shangguan Mo, she wouldn't dare to speak up or show her displeasure. Now, it was different; as soon as Shangguan Mo became a princess, she started to give her attitude!
Yuanxiang snorted coldly and stomped out, muttering that she would make Shangguan Mo pay for it.
Shangguan Mo opened her eyes and watched Yuanxiang leave, a cold glint flashing in her eyes. If it weren't for someone watching in the shadows, she wouldn't let a maid act so arrogantly toward her!
With a soft huff, she closed her eyes again.
In the dead of night, the moonlight was enchanting.
Suddenly, Shangguan Mo opened her eyes, a strange smile gradually appearing. The wind howled, bringing a chilling sensation in the darkness. Mixed within the wind were soft whimpering sounds that seeped into her ears, creating an eerie atmosphere.
However, for someone who had spent days with ghosts and had visited the Hall of Yama several times, this was truly not frightening at all!
"Ah..." A piercing scream echoed, the sound chilling and heart-wrenching.
It was clear that the scream belonged to Yuanxiang. Shangguan Mo turned over, ignoring the commotion outside, and continued to sleep. She pulled the blanket tighter around herself; she didn't want to catch a cold.
The next day, just as dawn broke, Gu Yihan saw Jing Mohen swaggering toward Youming Courtyard with his folding fan, humming a tune, clearly in a good mood.
Gu Yihan quickly caught up and asked suspiciously, "What did you do?"
Jing Mohen closed his fan and smiled brightly, "It turns out that pretending to be a ghost is so exhilarating, especially when you scare someone to death!"
Gu Yihan's expression changed, "You actually... The prince didn't allow you to harm her!"
Jing Mohen glanced at him, "I know my limits. Without the prince's orders, I certainly wouldn't kill that woman. But for a spy, how could I not give her a little scare?"
Gu Yihan frowned, following him toward Youming Courtyard. To be honest, he didn't feel very reassured.
In Youming Courtyard, Shangguan Mo had someone prepare breakfast in the courtyard and sat elegantly at the table, sipping porridge. Although there were no maids in the Ghost King's residence, only men, they were quite adept at serving.
Shangguan Mo was clearly in a good mood; after sleeping for a night, her spiritual power had returned, allowing her to act without restraint.
When Jing Mohen and Gu Yihan entered, they saw this scene. A look of surprise flashed across Jing Mohen's eyes, and Gu Yihan frowned before turning to leave.
Jing Mohen quickly composed himself and smiled charmingly, "Princess, the prince asked me to check if you are settling in well."
Shangguan Mo lowered her eyelids, concealing her amusement, and said blandly, "Not bad."
"Where's your maid? How come she hasn't come to serve you?" This question had a somewhat accusatory tone, but Jing Mohen was too curious to care.
Last night, he hadn't seen any signs of the princess; he had thought she was hiding under the covers, trembling in fear, or perhaps had fainted from fright. This morning, he expected to see her pale and listless, but instead, she looked radiant.
Even a man would have some fear, right? Moreover, according to the information he had, this princess was indeed someone who could be bullied—weak and timid. How could she have no reaction at all? Was she sleeping too soundly? No, that maid screamed so loudly; she should have woken up!
Shangguan Mo took a sip of porridge, slightly furrowing her brow, then said slowly, "This morning, I intended to have Yuanxiang come to serve me, but I found her lying on the floor, her eyes wide open, face twisted, body cold and stiff—she had already passed away. It seems she was scared to death!" After saying this, she took another sip of porridge.
Jing Mohen's forehead broke out in a cold sweat; he was momentarily stunned before awkwardly smiling, "As long as the princess is comfortable, that's good. The prince has other matters for me, so I'll go busy myself!"
He then hurriedly left, feeling as if his backside was on fire. He had to report to the prince—this woman was too extraordinary!
The information they had received and this princess's actual situation were completely different. How deep was this woman hiding her true self? Or was it...
Watching Jing Mohen's retreating figure, Shangguan Mo curled her lips and continued to enjoy her breakfast.
Gong Juexiang raised his arms to let someone help him dress. After hearing what Gu Yihan had said, he wasn't too surprised and simply said lightly, "You weren't scared by Mokai's prank, were you?" His voice remained gentle, but there was a subtle, hard-to-detect meaning behind it.
"Bang..."
The door was kicked open, slamming against the wall with a loud crash.
"Your Highness, something's wrong!" Jing Mohen burst in, shouting like a ghost.
