Gong Jue Shang looked at the little maid, his voice flat and emotionless, sending chills down her spine, "Isn't this good?"

The little maid's lips trembled, but she couldn't find the words.

She genuinely felt for Yi Qing'er; the slap on Yi Qing'er's face hurt her more than if it had been dealt to her. Perhaps this was the reaction Gong Jue Shang intended.

Yi Qing'er's tears flowed even more. In truth, she had woken up just as Gong Jue Shang was about to leave, pretending to still be dreaming just to keep him there. She never anticipated it would unfold like this. She had thought that even out of gratitude, Gong Jue Shang would show her some compassion. After all, he had always treated her a bit differently, usually willing to chat with her for longer.

"If..." Yi Qing'er looked at the expressionless Gong Jue Shang and choked out, "If it were your princess, would you hit her too?"

Unable to hold back her curiosity, she wanted to know the answer. Shangguan Mo had become a painful thorn in her heart. Without Shangguan Mo, she believed that as long as she didn't give up, her senior brother would eventually accept her. But after today's events, she felt increasingly anxious. Gong Jue Shang's attitude towards Shangguan Mo seemed too special; she had never seen him so close to another woman.

Gong Jue Shang recalled the vulnerable Shangguan Mo from that drunken night; she was actually quite heart-wrenching.

Seeing Gong Jue Shang silent, Yi Qing'er's face lost all color, and she murmured, "Why? What's so good about her?" Was it just because she was prettier than her?

Gong Jue Shang casually replied, "She's not that annoying!" and then turned to leave.

Yes! Shangguan Mo wasn't that annoying; in fact, he enjoyed being with her. She made him realize that having someone who could be both an enemy and a friend in this world wasn't such a bad thing!

Gu Yihan quietly followed Gong Jue Shang, feeling shocked. The prince actually said Shangguan Mo wasn't that annoying! If the prince said he wasn't annoyed, it meant he liked her a little. Did the prince like Shangguan Mo? Liking a spy?

This seemed serious! Gu Yihan couldn't help but frown. He didn't even know where Jing Mo Han had wandered off to; he had no idea who to discuss this with now.

After walking for a while, Gong Jue Shang suddenly stopped, and Gu Yihan, still lost in thought, bumped into him. Gong Jue Shang frowned and looked at him, asking, "Yihan, do you have something to say?" It wasn't like Gu Yihan to bump into someone.

Gu Yihan snapped back to reality, thinking to himself, My lord, it seems you have something to say now? But he respectfully replied, "No, I was just a bit distracted."

Gong Jue Shang didn't press further and said in a serious tone, "Get ready; we'll set off the day after tomorrow!" He glanced towards the courtyard, a smirk appearing on his lips. That woman should be making her escape soon!

Watching Gong Jue Shang walk inside, Gu Yihan was about to follow when he suddenly realized something was off. This wasn't the prince's ghostly residence; it was the Underworld Academy! Was the prince really planning to spend the night here?

Gu Yihan felt conflicted. No, he had to find someone to discuss this; he couldn't just let the prince jump into the fire!

With a loud crash, Gong Jue Shang looked at the ruined bed and shook his head, saying, "Princess, what are you doing? You've ruined such a sturdy bed!"

Shangguan Mo clenched her fists and got off the now shattered bed, gritting her teeth, "Gong Jue Shang, what exactly do you want?"

She had already fallen asleep, but Gong Jue Shang had sneakily climbed onto her bed. Although he couldn't completely hide his distinctive aura, she was so familiar with it that she only realized he was there when he touched her, prompting her to react instinctively with a slap.

Gong Jue Shang dodged, but the bed couldn't, and it met its end.

Gong Jue Shang looked completely innocent and said, "It's so late; of course, I'm here to sleep!" Okay! He admitted he had a bit of a dark sense of humor, but seeing Shangguan Mo angry was genuinely enjoyable. After all, she always acted like she didn't care about anything!

Shangguan Mo took a deep breath, calming her expression, but she was still gritting her teeth inside. She found this man truly capable of driving her mad. She forced a smile and asked, "Aren't you going to find your little junior sister?"

"Qing'er just had a nightmare; it's nothing serious!"

"To prevent her from having more nightmares, you should keep her company!" She gestured for him to leave, clearly indicating he was unwelcome.

Gong Jue Shang seemed oblivious to her gesture and smiled gently, "Princess, now that your bed is broken, do you need me to share half of mine with you?"

Shangguan Mo scoffed, "Thank you for your kindness, but there are plenty of beds in this palace!"

"Oh..." Gong Jue Shang nodded and didn't say anything more, turning to walk outside.

Shangguan Mo watched his departing figure, frowning. Was he really this easy to talk to?

Before long, Shangguan Mo heard a series of loud crashes coming from various parts of the palace. Yun Su rushed over without even putting on her outer robe, anxiously asking, "Miss, are you alright?" Ouyang Lin followed closely behind, his brow furrowed.

Yun Su's room was a bit far from Shangguan Mo's. Although it was more convenient for Yun Su to be close, she had a ghostly husband, and Shangguan Mo didn't want to hear anything inappropriate at night.

Shangguan Mo frowned and asked, "What happened?" Her intuition told her it had something to do with Gong Jue Shang.

Ouyang Lin spoke up, "The hidden guards of the palace suddenly broke in and smashed our bed!"

Shangguan Mo's expression darkened. Damn Gong Jue Shang! He actually smashed beds! From the noise just now, it seemed like the palace's beds would only be left with his! How childish!

She never expected that her first encounter with the well-trained guards of the Ghost King's palace would be under such circumstances. Shangguan Mo snorted coldly and headed towards the ghostly residence. If she wasn't going to sleep, then no one else would!

With a loud "bang," the door was kicked open, and Gong Jue Shang lay back on the bed with his legs crossed, hands behind his head, looking relaxed. He turned to look at the frowning Shangguan Mo and smiled gently, "Princess, have you changed your mind?"
